^ Rest assured, at least with piercings you can get one, decide later it's not one you want, and take it out with only the tiniest scar as evidence it ever existed. Heck, people get so worried about the scars from piercings - I've seen far, far, far worse acne and chickenpox scars, so I don't see what the big deal is.
Therefore, my advice is - go forth and become pierced! You can always take it out. Unlike tattoos, which I get very up-in-arms about people choosing lightly. I admit I didn't put much thought into my first tattoo, but I made sure at the same time that it was something I would be very unlikely to regret, if I ever did.
I still love it, and have added to it to make it something I love even more, and now I will never regret it. |

Age: 28 Gender: Female Posts: 4054 | June 28th, 2007 at 12:30am I've had my ears pierced 3 times on each. Once by me, when I was in like 5th grade. I dunno why. o.O
But they've all grown in exect the one hole on each side.
I wanna get a lip ring on the left side, but I dunno if I can handle the pain.
I'm whimpy. =] |

I think there's a high possibility that I'm getting my eyebrow pierced..
Does anyone else have it done?
If so, could you just PM me? I just have questions about it. |

6 lobe and 4 cartlage.
i really hate the guns so the last few times i've done them myself, and none of
them have gotten infected. i want to get another piercing, but i don't know what
it's called. it's the part of the ear right above the lobe. and let's face it, if i don't
even know what it's called i'm not gonna do it myself. does anyone
know what i'm talking about?

I'm whimpy. =] Pah, stress less. Lip piercings are a weeny little sting. Seriously, it's not like there's anything to 'go through with', if you will, because it's over and done in under a minute and it's not like taking it out afterwards will stop the minimal amount of pain - so go for it.

Tragus, perhaps?
Or perhaps an anti-tragus is more what you were thinking of?
Either way, I'd suggest you go to a professional. Piercing at home, especially cartilage, especially these tricky bits that you can't see very well (unless you have a really good mirror set-up), can get, well, disastrous results. It's pretty cheap to get these ones done professionally, so give that a go. |

My cousin is getting his done, and he said he'll give me some stretchers if I want. It's not like I want them extreamly huge, anyway.
And I've bene trying to convince my mom to let me get my monroe pierced. Not working so well. |

As long as you clean them really, really well when you get home, they should be fine. That's what I did when I got mine done. |

If you havent noticed, if you go to the beach with a cut and look at it on the way home it will be healed up a bit.
Salt water is just good for healing.
But you probably should clean it pretty well when you get home. |

People do salt-water soaks on infected piercings to help clean them. So I doubt it. =) |

I'm with everyone else here. Salt-water is super-amazing for wounds, and ocean water seems to be just the perfect concentration for maximum healing effect.
If you're concerned about sand or whatever getting into the piercing, just take a good, long shower when you get home (no need to use soap etc, the salt water will have cleaned it out sufficiently for the day) and wash your hair to make sure no salt crusties get in it (that also goes for tying your hair back at the beach if you're going to sunbathe etc). |

My mom said that, too. So the day I moved out... I had my stuff in my car and was on my way to my place, I stopped at my piercer and had my lip done *haha* |
