They mostly are about the members having sex on stage or getting people from the crowd to have sex with them. This cant be true because if it was they'd be in jail or something so what is it really? Does anybody even know what I'm talking about?

Manson was being interviewed about his new record, and when asked about "Mutilation is the Most Sincere Form of Flattery", he said:
"I'm embarrassed to be me because these people are doing a really sad, pitiful, shallow version of what I've done.
If they want to identify with me then here's a razor blade. Call me when you're done and we'll talk."
I thought it was a bit ridiculous, because MCR really isn't ripping-off Manson in any way that he hasn't "copied" other artists (how many bands have done "the bar", worn suits, or had incredibly dramatic stage shows before?). But that's his prerogative.
When interviewed about it, Gerard responded:
"We still haven't found someone that has knocked us down that we need to take seriously. If Elvis Costello said we sucked we would think about it a bit but usually it is comments from someone with a new record to promote so the remarks ring hollow."
I think the "new record" comment is complete crap; Manson wrote a song on his new record about the band, and when asked about it, he replied. It seems like more than anything that Gerard's just dodging the point... |

Remember that when Antichrist Superstar hit big, Alice Cooper made the same exact remarks about him. Gerard's response was actually the edgiest I've ever heard him be. That was a real dig. What else can he do, though? Someone hits you, you hit back, right? |
