Meep. I got to see Juke Kartel on Friday after all.

It was completely sold out. So I messaged the band and explained my situation and they gave me the contact details of the guy running it. So I emailed him, Glen, and he was all "It sold out 3 weeks ago, but we'll be selling any unclaimed tickets at the door at 8:30."

So we rock up at 8 and there's 5 tickets left.

Crisis over.

But small world - me and my bf were hanging around between bands and some guy walks past and slaps my bf on the arse. My bf, stunned, turns around to look at this guy and the other guy, horrified goes, "I'm sorry mate! I thought you were Bobby!"

Turns out this arse slapping guy was Glen Stokes - the guy I spoke to in the email.

Because the tours thread is getting a work out, I thought I'd post here:

Engineering The Soul

Welcome to the start of the next Something With Numbers era.

At the beginning of this year we left Australia to record our third record in Brooklyn, New York. It began a 9 week journey that saw us also play shows in Texas & New York & resulted in our brand new album titled ENGINEERING THE SOUL.

The album was recorded with producer Tim O’Heir who has worked with great bands such as Dinosaur Jr, Say Anything and All American Rejects. To say that we are happy with what happened would be an understatement. This would easily be the most ambitious record we have ever made, with the producer pushing us to our creative limits & helping introduce us to the joys of horn sections, new guitar sounds & some very special piano arrangements. We are very proud of the results and can’t wait to share it with you and see what you think!!!

The first single off the album is called STAY WITH ME BRIGHT EYES and we will be putting it up on our myspace page next Monday before it goes to JJJ the next day. So make sure you go check it out www.myspace.com/somethingwithnumbers and we would love it if you added it to your page to help get the message out there. The single is released on the 28th of June through Below Par Records/Virgin.

To get ready for the next 12 months of mayhem we hope to cause around Australia we are doing some very special warm up shows along the East Coast. We are going to be showcasing some new songs from the album and of course introduce you formally to our newy “Stay With Me Bright Eyes”.

Check out the below for tour Info.

Harlequin League anyone?
Their song, Hole In The Heart, was on a triple j new music podcast a few months ago. But I didn't really listen to it much
And then my friend started talking about them the other day, and now that I've given them a proper listen, I suggest you all go and check them out xD

The Living End AC/DC Lane Show May Be Moved

by Paul Cashmere - June 6 2008

Tomorrow night's free concert by The Living End in Melbourne's AC/DC is expected to be moved after fire swept through the area last night.

A blaze occurred at around 8.30pm damaging the famed Cherry Bar and destroying the Melbourne office of celebrity chef Jamie Oliver. The blaze broke out from Oliver's offices.

Radio network Triple J is putting on a free show featuring The Living End tomorrow night, but the lane is currently closed as the fire damage is accessed.

According to reports this morning, a new venue will most likely be announced today.

Undercover will have more details when the news happens.

HOW DID I NOT KNOW ABOUT THIS UNTIL NOW?

Seriously, exams kill my super stalker skills.

If that fire hadn't have happened, I wouldn't have known about it at all. Neutral
