| Tacky and Irrelevant Salute You in Your Grave Age: 28 Gender: Female Posts: 4842 | I'm Catholic and yes, I believe that God made the world in 7 earth days. I believe that Jesus was crucified and then went to heaven with his Father with body and soul. It's hurtful that people make fun of your religion while you are respecting theirs. I think that everyone should believe in a higher being. People may believe in evolution, but where did the monkeys came from? Where did the cell came from? Where did the universe came from? Where did everything came from? There has to be someone in a higher level who did that. None of this could be done out of nowhere. (This is just my point of view) |

| AHailOfBullets Killjoy Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 17 | well i guess i'm late on posting here a bit.. and i'm not about to read all 50 pages. but i'll put my views.. i was born a roman catholic, never went to church, was forced to go to ccd, made confirmation to make my mother happy. (although i had pink hair at the time and they made me dye it or i was not allowed to make it. i got in a big fight with a lot of people, mocking "what, does god not love me if i have pink hair and look different?" ) anyway, i don't quite remember when it was that i strayed from religion, but all i know, is that religion and beliefs REALLY fascinate me, but i absolutely hate the idea of it, and do not believe in god at all. i believe religion is the cause to all wars. the crusades, ww2..and look what's going on now. people killing each other over religion and views. i mean, i in no way intend to offend anyone here. i'm simply stating my views. but i don't know, i believe in evolution ever since i went in depth in bio class... and well, i have had many conversations with friends over everything, and i'm firm on my beliefs. basically, i believe it is all leads to war, and i am COMPLETELY against war. everything mixes in together. and i'm just fucking babbling.... |
| xMari_Malicex Motor Baby Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 775 | Would you have the same view if they were to teach you creationalism in biology instead of evolution? |
| AHailOfBullets Killjoy Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 17 | um, welll i'm not saying i learned first about it there in that class.. i knew a lot before hand.. but after getting into things so much... it all made a lot more sense to me. you know? and by high school i had my views on religion..and not believing in god. i mean, i have tried at times to get into the views my mother has and all.. and i just wind up getting really mad at it all. maybe it all started as a rebellion, i don't know. i mean, i respect everyyones beliefs. and don't put anyone down for what they believe in. because if that's what they believe in and they trust in their religion and all.. then good for them. it's just not me... |
| takesonetoknowone Salute You in Your Grave Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 2565 | hi im new to this thread. but i find the topic of religion a interesting and difficult one to deal with. first of all, im christian. specifically LDS otherwise known as the Mormons. but from my views of religion which are very adaptive to the time we are living in now. saying that i dont live in this holy world where everyone does the right thing (which most people in my religion seem to think is happening) but anyway. i think that all the relgions in the world well for the most part, follow the same kind of story line, of a higher being and a death and some sort of rebirth. all the tiny details in between matter to some, but in the end i think the point of religion is to unify people and tell us that we are all the same and should live and work together. well at leas those are my views on it all. |
| bub Killjoy Age: - Gender: Female Posts: 1 | im religious and believe in god however i dont let my religion dominate and withstrain my life it influences me but doesnt force me to always do as im told to me religion is all about belif and a spirtual connection with a higher power |

| broken. Jazz Hands Age: - Gender: Female Posts: 253 | xXEmoxPenguinXx: EmoPenguin-- I don't quite understand the need for all capitals, but hey, whatever floats your boat. I'm not sure what you're talking about here, feels a wee bit random. I would find that story pathetic also but I wouldn't exactly say "HA! LOOK THAT IS WHAT CHURCH KIDS TURN INTO! FRIGGIN` POSER!" Everyone else out there. I'm Hindu. I don't go to temple every Tuesday, I don't know why caucasians spell Krishna as Krsna and take my religion so damn seriosly, and I don't know the Gita by heart. But I do know there's a greater person out there, it's okay to waver from God a little [all part of the growing your wings process] just as long as you know they're there, and I'm the kind of person who prays before I go to bed, just to thank God for all I got. Evolution is great and all, but I don't think the world coming into being was all that simple, so simple that they have it in a tattered up science book with the pages stuck together. I'd like to believe there's something more. Whatever you guys believe is great and all, just not me. |

| Kid__ Always Born a Crime Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 6686 | I agree with Breathtaking. It is sad when people mock others for their religious beliefs, even though they expect others to be tolerant of theirs. I understand what you're saying as well about everything coming from something else, but where did it all come from in the first place. In fact, I've often wondered that myself. |
| Fezzik Salute You in Your Grave Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 2748 | Evolution isn't really all that simple. But it doesn't explain everything. I find evolution much more plausible than Creationism, though. From what I understand, Creationism is the belief that God simply threw everything on the Earth as it is now. I heard someone once say that she believed in it because it was the only theory that explains everything. Which is really pretty stupid, because if you can't prove it, anything you make up could explain everything. Anyway, I think especially if you look at the London moth thing, evolution is pretty much verified, over-all (the population of moths in London switched from being mostly white to being mostly grey as the air got sooty during the Industrial Revolution, because they blended in better and so were eaten less, and then switched back to being mostly white when the city was cleaned up, hence basically proving the idea of survival of the fittest. In case anyone didn't know what 'moth thing' I meant |
| billy99 Motor Baby Age: - Gender: - Posts: 888 | Evolution is more believable too, because there are proven facts. Like scientists are still picking up waves from the supposed Big Bang. |
| greeneyedgurl Fabulous Killjoy Age: 29 Gender: Female Posts: 133 | i am a christian, but unlike the bible, i accept homosexuality and i don't think it is wrong. The bible says that it is a sin and they can be forgiven. but, if you pray for forgivness for homosexuality and you believe you are gay, then why lie and stop being yourself? |
| clumsy heart. Banned Age: 28 Gender: Female Posts: 11766 | I've been raised catholic and have does most of the steps in it. I pretty much believe in most of the history of the bible but there are many things i dont agree with. I dont really know if god is "all powerful" and stuff. i dont agree with the catholic church's views on modern social issues and their view on thinsg in the world. I kinda have to get my religion more figured out. |
| captain fine. Demolition Lover Age: 28 Gender: Female Posts: 16055 | I don't believe in religion at all. Especially Catholicism. It's all made up because it's what they didn't understand so many years ago. I don't plan to base my life around a book. A bestseller, at that. |
| wilson. Shotgun Sinner Age: - Gender: - Posts: 9092 | I'm a Catholic, thanks to my mom and her religious ways. My dad's not religious at all, and neither am I. I have trouble following a book over 1750 years out of date, especially since when the telephone book is just one year out of date it generally goes to sh*t. Jesus only effects people's lives because they want him to. They want to know that someone made sacrifices for them. They want to know that someone wants them to succeed. They let him effect them because they want him to. He doesn't do it on his own. |
