Ed Minton - Lovely colours. I like them xD

For the Win - There's something about that photo that I really like. I can't quite put my finger on it, maybe because it seems so quiet and peaceful? I'm not sure. But I like it =]

matfew churlz sanduz - I like the first one, it's taken at an interesting angle.

Thank you! I'm glad you like it. It's actually one of my favorites.
The suburbs where my friend lives are really quiet, yeah. It's nice.

A friend and I ventured around the neighborhood and into the parking
lot of a local high school. And because I am just oh so patriotic, hah...

okay, since i've been using a Nikon N75 for a while now, i've been used to that kind of camera and such.
but, i'm going to be upgrading to a digital Nikon soon, but, i can't decide either to get a D40 or a D60, or fork out the extra money for a D80.

which one would be better?
don't put it perspective which is better for beginner though, because i already know how to use them, and i learn really quickly.

for the win: yes, the sun is too bright, but it's a good perspective nonetheless. try taking another picture when the sun is lower.

rumoured nights: I'd get the D80 if you can afford it.

The D80 has a few more features than the D40 and has 10megapixels. The autofocus is in the body (you'll see a lot about that issue in this thread if you look; the D40 doesn't have that), I'm pretty sure. It has like more timers, can do wireless flash, can do time-lapse, and stuff like that. The sensors in the D40 and D80 are the same (picking up light, color, etc.). So if you have the money and consider yourself in need of those features, GET THE D80. :] If not, then it's a waste of money for now.

Edit: I want to mention that I don't find megapixels important unless making large prints (unless it's like 3 MP or something, which is crapola xD). the largest I have printed of a shot from my D40 is 8x10, and it was crystal clear.

Yup thats really all mega pixels are a must have for, if you're printing off big photos.
I think though, if you bring the photo to a proper photography shop (not a pharmacy) with the photo you want enlarged on a cd/usb key/SD card they can blow it up to pretty much any size you want, regardless of what MP your camera is.

I have a HP M425 for now lmfao
It's actually a pretty good camera for something so cheap, I mainly only use it for shots of me and my friends. It's my socialising camera lmfao
I've had it over two years now, I love it haha.

When I'm taking shots for college I use my mums Samsung N-7, which is very good. I like it anyway, and it's easy to use.
I'm saving for a Nikon D40X or D60.
Should hopefully have one by the end of October Mr. Green

:

All they do when blowing it up is add strips of information where it is missing any, which means a blown-up photo may look blurry or pixelated, even at a pro shop. Which is somewhat okay for a street banner or something, but not for an art gallery print (WALL SIZE -drool-) or a client.

Wall-size, by the way, would probably take 20+ megapixels. Ohh, the money.

Oh yeah I didn't mean gallery size, sorry should have said that.
For eg, I got a photo taken with a 5mp camera blown up to 26 x 38
And it's perfect.

So they can do pretty amazing things Very Happy

I can't wait to start college, I'm super excited about it!!
