Frankie-Oreo:
im not saying it sucked, it was the best concert ever. i just prefer bigger venues.
like i loved loved loved the tivoli. so so good.
In my opinion, smaller shows are better because it's more intimate, and the band can muck around onstage a lot more than if they are play ing a bigger venue. |

It's surprised Silverchair aren't playing at the Convention Center. That's where MCR will be playing when they come back. |

Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 3660 | March 29th, 2007 at 07:56pm Because after the Tivoli, the next place up is the Convention Center.
To break even for the Convention Center, you need to sell at least 60% of the tickets there.
Convention Center = 6000 capacity I believe.
Two (SOLD OUT) nights at the Tivoli = 3400 people.
Basically, they can sell 60% of the tickets at the Convention Center easily, so they'll be playing there next time. |

It's 4000 at the convention centre (according to Cam). So obv. they'll be able to break even, but who knows, by the time they come back, their sucess could have died down a little.
sez:wow. you've thought about this, ey?
We know this cause we were talking to this guy that runs the tivoli before the first brisbane show.
From a tour promoter's point of view, to break even at the covention centre, you need to sell 60 percent of tickets, (and that's just a basic show, with the screens, lights, and equipment. With all that added stuff MCR are doing on their current tour, obviously they'll have to sell more tickets). So if you're unsure if you'll have enough people to break even, you go with two nights at the tivoli, because you'll def. be gaining money while playing to approx. the same amount of people as you would at the convention centre or whatever it is. |

Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 3660 | March 30th, 2007 at 06:27pm I wouldn't be surprised if next time they hit around $65 or more. Big bands these days are usually around $80, aren't they? How much were FOB? Plus My Chem have all that pyro stuff to cover the cost of blahblahblah...
I remember their first shows here were under $35 /whinge |

it will majorly suck if MCR turned into those couple of thousand audience bands. (i want to keep them to myself...mwahaha)
i pray they'll never turn into anything like U2 (they won't i swear but who knows the future). It's useless sitting a whole street away. |

oh, i remember too. i'm not paying $65 to see MCR, $50 was max. unless you know, they do a brilliant live show with lights and smoke and...lasers and blood and cobwebs and stuff. actually, if they did that, tickets would be a little more that $65
but yeah. from the show i went to this year at festival hall, it wasnt that spectacular |

Depending on venue, I wouldn't be surprised if at some point in the future My Chem was MORE than that.
Pretty much it happens with, the more people you perform for, the higher your insurance costs go, which pretty much sucks ass.
But I'd definately pay that to see My Chem, I mean hell, I paid 80 something to see NIN this year, why not for my actual favourite band? |

...MCR already are a "couple of thousand audience band". Sydney shows were 5000 and 3500, Melbourne was 4500. |
