I stole this link off Tabs last time someone was enquiring.

Comic Shop Locator

It's how I found my local comic shop... Which turns out to be about 20 miles away, but Meh... That's what friends are for. She hates going in there, but she does it because she wuvs me, Lol. She's convinced it smells funny.

(coming out of lurking really quick)

Umm, hi
I just wanted to ask if anyone else was picking up MCR referances in the comic...or if that's just me lol
Like, in the last issue "A Perfect Life" (I think thats what it's called) Either Hazel or Cha Cha, idk which, says
"Like spectors in a snowstorm."
That totally means "Like ghosts in the snow and you know it. Right?
And than in "God Save The Presedent" when Seance is at the salon: swear to god the dryer says Helena.
And there is a short they did for free comic book day called 'But The Past Ain't Throught With You'

There's more...though I forget them now.

That is all

So I managed to find a comic book store close by last weekend and bought Dallas issues 1-4. I couldn't find 5, I'll have to go back soon. I had decided to pace myself when reading them so it wouldn't seem like such a long wait for the next issue. But I'm already done! I just adore the series. The art is amazing and the humor Gerard adds is just so fun. God as a cowboy, oh wow xD

So, did anyone see the twitter Gerard posted asking if one member was to have their own comic, who would you chose? I think I'd say either Seance or Rumor.
Speaking of Rumor, I dressed as her for Superhero day at school today (;

I know they have 'em in Singapore, but I'm pretty sure they'll have it everywhere else. Try contacting your local comic store? (:

I finally bought issue 5! I hate not having a comic book store in my town. It was entertaining and really confused me, but I can't wait for the final installment!

okay, hopefully somebody will read this eventually....
for web design we have to make our own website [not being officially posted on the web]
so i'm picking the umbrella academy
the only thing is, i need 6 or so external links.

so far i have:
-the official site
-reference to the movie info
-mcr
-something about gabriel ba...referencing to his biography/other works
what else should i use?

suggestions would be appreciated i'm kind of at a loss Mr. Green

Dark Horse might have their own website. TUA also has its own Myspace if that counts...

I wouldn't include a link to MCR. Gerard has made it extremely clear that his work on MCR and his work on TUA are two separate, unrelated things, You could put a link to the series' Eisner win and some of the press leading up to the release, and play up Gabriel a little more, seeing as he's half the team; one little blurb of his other works hardly seems fair.

alrighty. thanks guys =)
and yeah, i was kinda wishy washy about linking mcr as a site.
one of the pages is going to be about the author and another about the artist, basically a biographical page for each of the guys.
for gerard i was just gonna say he was in a band, post the link, possibly not even stating the name and then leave it as that since i know he wants to keep the two worlds pretty seperate...so yeah. i'll debate a little further before deciding i guess.
i know that gabriel and fabio (brother) have their own official site so i'm pretty sure i'll use that one.
and i'm definitely posting something about the eisners too

I think my brain melted out of my ears whilst reading issue 6. I'm not the most intelligent pickle in the jar. : ) Loved it though. Particularly loved the whole page of The Rumor whilst sat in the car with the BANG. Brilliant artwork.

AGREED i loved how that fit in too, it was great!!
the last part with the lyrics and the jukebox were absolutely beautiful too!!! perfect ending.
i agree though, i did really have to think about it all for a second, but i read the whole series again 2 days before it came out, so everything flowed nicely.

Umbrella Academy is a really great work. I've got Apocalypse Suite. I almost started to cry when Pogo died, I really liked him, and the part when there is like "You're right, you're not like the others. You don't have to destroy thing to proove yourself. You ARE special". At least it was something like that ^^ Thought it was really sweet.
