i live in England so i understand college is different to people going in American.
I'm going to wyke sixth form, college.
I'm taking:
travel and tourism
modern history
geology
geography
then in your second year you drop one so i think I'm going to drop modern history.
i really want to go but I'm scared because i won't know anyone and I'm really shy when it comes to meeting people face to face the first time. |

when i finish school... in May. I'm moving away. I'm going to start completely afresh : ) i really can't wait.
so yeah, i'm moving out of county which is kinda awkward as all the kids at school are applying for Chesterfield collage so thats all the teachers really care about. me and my sister just sit there and fiddle with our thumbs while everyone fills in application forms.
i'm actully applying for Leeds Collage tomorrow : )
i'm putting my name down for Media Studys, i can't remember the name of the course but it's about cameras and recording stuff : )
i can't wait xD

I want to major in drama/performing arts.
Does anyone know of some colleges with particularly good theatre programs?
I'm considering U of Minn. Duluth and Boston U, but I don't want to miss out on any other good choices. |

Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 577 | August 30th, 2008 at 03:34pm i have the same problem. my mom wants me to switch my major to business, but i totally like what i'm doing now.
in my opinion, you just got to do what you're interested in. no point studying what you're not interested in, and end up screwing the entire thing (trust me, i have major experience with this).
so you gotta think through which one you prefer. |

Hopefully McComb's business school for international business, or their amazing communications program for rtvf (radio/television/film)...
But it really doesn't matter all that much. Just get good grades and destroy the MCAT so I can go to med school. |

I live in australia, so our collage is called University.
But I can't wait to go. I'm in my final year of high school, and then hopefully, I'll go to the University of Technology in Sydney, and do a Bachelor of Communicative design. It'll ultimately let me study Graphic Design and Screen Studies (like movies and television) so when I'm finished, I can focus on creating posters and advertising shit for movies/television, but I can also go and be a director, cinematographer or screen writer if I want.
So that's pretty much fucking awesome because movies are my passion and there is nothing I'd love more than to work in the movie industry. Although as long as I'm not an actor or anything cause I'm deathly scared of the limelight.
But the only problem is that so many people want to go to the University of Technology that the entrance mark you need to have is a 94/100. Which I won't get. So I'll have to go through one of the alternattive entry schemes. Which I'm not too fussed about lol.

Oh sociology is so interesting. I do a senior course now in it and some theories like functionalism are so freaking difficult to get your mind around it, but once you understand it its so fascinating. If I didn't do a media or design course that's probably what I'd end up doing. |

Age: 36 Gender: Female Posts: 14696 | September 1st, 2008 at 12:14am I'm a senior in America at Florida Gulf Coast University. It's currently the smallest state university in Florida.
I'm majoring in Criminal Forensics and I'm so happy I'm almost done.
All of my professors are still practicing in their specified professions, so I'm getting first hand experience in crime solving, forensics and psychology situations.
This semester, since I'm just trying to finish up, I'm taking Experimental Psychology, Senior Seminar (which is basically writing a very large paper about your college experience), University Colloquium and Forensic Odontology.
Though I care about all of my schooling, the class I'm most excited for is Forensic Odontology since it's involving forensics. |
