I love My Chemical Romance's "I'm Not Okay (I Promise)".
The reason is that I feel like I'm a part of it all.
I once had a terrible time at school, just like Gerard, Mikey, Frank, and maybe Bob and Ray.
Just because I was bullied.
I ate my lunch in some near by woods, in fear of being beaten up by other pupils.
I've been there.
The song makes me feel like I got my revenge.
Because I really did.
The bullies didn't brake me.
They didn't manage to beat me down.

and she went and took photographs with this one guy. she did very dirty things with this guy though and just took all these pics of it.
then she went and showed it to gerard and broke his heart.
i know if i where him i would be angry, embaressed, and i would want revenge
i bet that girl now TOTALLY regrets ever breaking gerards heart.
if im wrong about this please tell me what you think really happened

Maybe his friend? Or even his sister. The line "Remember when you broke your foot from jumping out the second floor?" suggests that he has a long history with the second person. "You sing the words but don't know what it means" might mean that she doesn't understand what she is doing to his life. The whole song is sung like he's telling the truth about his "Not-Okayness". And that part of the bridge is how he sounds in denial: "What you really need to do is listen to me, because I'm telling you the truth! I mean it!! I'm okay!!!" |
