Ohhhhh, gun violence!
Shoot I thought it was about teenagers being scary on the subways.
I watched the interview, yes. I was misinformed, I tells ya!
Wow it's getting late.
Anyhoo, well then how does this relate to the whole rock-opera concept?
That's always confuzzled me.
Forgive me if this has been asked before, or if it's a stupid question. |

Not rock-opera, but you know the Patient idea.
I don't know the phrasing for it.
You get me? |

Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 9 | September 7th, 2008 at 05:52pm I think it's what Gerard said. "What you got under your shirt" Normally teenagers keep guns under their shirts. And I think the term "Darken your clothes" is not referring to emo's....>.> That's just my opinion. |

Age: 32 Gender: Female Posts: 7 | September 27th, 2008 at 09:06am this song was written after gerard was scared by teenagers on the train cause they were being wild and violent that made gerard write this song meaning violence is not always the answer to your problems |

Age: 29 Gender: Female Posts: 614 | October 11th, 2008 at 04:35am i think its mostly about the gun violance thing but a few lines stand out to me
"So Darken your clothes or strike a violant pose maybe theyll leave you alone But not me"
I think Gerards saying other people can darken there clothes or strike a violant pose and they might be left alone but if gerard darkens his clothes or strikes a violant pose the teenagers (Aka the fans) still dont leave him alone??
Those are my thoughts anyway |

How a teen responds to parents/adult figures, pressure of school, and the total uninterest of something unless it's "bleeding". |

Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 476 | October 21st, 2008 at 05:01pm Going back to The Patient, I thought maybe this song was him, as a young boy, remembering his father warning him what teenagers will be like? There's a lot of reference to the future here, with "They're gonna..." as a common phrase. Plus it says "you", as if someone is talking to The Patient rather than him saying this himself.
Conversely, it could be The Patient warning someone else about teenagers. |

and how their parents would get them in trouble when they did bad stuff. |

it was speculated the the line "what You got under your shirt' was to do with Gerard Being a wee bit chubby |

Well, there's a lot of "they", which implies a group, and then there's the line "but not me", which implies him being seperate from the rest, I guess...
What's the full question title? |
Bella Muerte! Really Not Okay
Age: 32 Gender: Female Posts: 632 | November 28th, 2008 at 03:38am Yeah i kinda get the whole belonging in the song i guess haha
The question was: the song lyric must idenify the various techniques and disscuss the way in which it represents belonging |
