sharpest lives is about a suffering person drunk and just had sex round a gf's house. he wants to go but his gf wants him to stay so he asks whether he can sleep DRESSED. He asks for a 'shot to remember' meaning if he has a shot (alchohol wise) it will harm him badly but because he is suffering so badly with having to stay.

Age: - Gender: Female Posts: 17 | January 9th, 2007 at 08:50pm I think the song is...well here are a few lines and what i think they mean...
Give me a shot to remember
And you can take all the pain away from me
A kiss and I will surrender
The sharpest lives are the deadliest to lead
ok i think the 1st & 2nd line is the patient asking the nurses to give him a shot to remember so the pain form his cancer will leave.
The 3rd & 4th line is saying if someone gives him a kiss, he'll surrender to the pain and that the sharpest lives (needles form doing drugs) are the deadliest to lead, becasue you eventually die from it.
If I sound stupid...I though of this when I was trying to fall asleep and was only 1/2 awake. |

"Give me a shot to remember,
and you can take all the pain away from me,
a kiss and I will surrender,
the sharpest lives are the deadliest to leave."
Sounds to me like a begging for his dealer for the last one, and what had happened on one of his highs.
Dude, that makes so much fucking sence.

"You can watch me corrode like a beast in repose
'Cause I love all the poison
Away with the boys in the band"
That part could be talking about Bert from The Used. About how, Bert wouldn't stop the doing drugs, even though Gerard wanted him to. "'Cause I love all the poisen"
And the part where it says "Away with the boys in the band", Gerard may be talking about how he thinks Bert doesn't care about Gerard or Bert's own band.
And then at the end of the chorus "So you can leave like the sane abandonded me", Maybe Gerard's talking about how Bert can give up drugs just like Gerard did, and become "sane", cause as you prolly know, Gerard became completely sober in 2004 and he wants that for Bert. |

Some might say we are made from the sharpest things you say
We are young and we don't care.
Your dreams and your hopeless hair.
We never wanted it to be this way.
For all our lives.
Do you care {at all}?"
These lyrics from Give 'em hell Kid, i believe, support the song sharpest lives. I think its showing that the sharpest lives are about teens or youth who are 'young' and 'careless'. The dreams and hopeless hair lyrics, I think, show that they are dreamers who are materialistic... but in the end they regret all they did and do. They deny who they are... and just "never wanted it to be this way" |

I agree...there are also some oher parts that I think are dealing woth Bert and Gerard issue."There's a place in the dark where the animals go you can take off your skin in the cannibal glow"-I thinkn thats saying something along the lines of going partying all night and showing your true self through that... |
