Is it better than Photoshop or the same?
Can you do more things on it or less?
I want Photoshop or Gimp on my computer, I'm not sure yet.
Any information would be wonderful. |

Gimp is free to download. Photoshop is not unless you can find it for free online somewhere. Gimp is like Photoshop. It has layers, color balance, curves and channel mixer, use textures, blending...etc. So you could do most things you could do on photoshop. The one thing that it does not have is Selective Coloring. I know theres more, but Gimp is very decent to use and has more features then what you could do with paint or the free photofiltre. |

Sorry, but I at least don't have any tutorials. I read some once, but they didn't get me anywhere, so I figured it out on my own. =/

And really, it actually meant a lot that you commented about that arm line, because, since it stuck out so much, screwing it up would really make the whole thing look bad. So I'm really glad you liked it. x]
I really like your vector, love the style of it, how you took a printed dress and made it plain without it feeling like anything's missing. It just looks really nice and put together. Plus it's just nice to see someone else who does vectors on here, haha.
Are you going to do the face, or leave it like that? It looks nice now, but a face would be awesome too. (: |

Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 2026 | March 16th, 2008 at 08:59pm I'm leaving it, partly because the trial I had of Illustrator ran out XD. Also the style for the figure was inspired by [ripped off from] fullbleed shirts, the guy who does them just uses simple sillhouettes.

But you did something else with it, yours is a bit different. I like it. His doesn't have any shadowing on the clothing, and most are just silhouettes, not even with clothing.
Don't discredit your stuff, it looks awesome. xD |

I have no idea if I'm even doing it right. >.<

I'm not sure if that's a vector, if all of it is gradients or solid color than it is, but if the accents aren't then it's not. But it looks like it could well be, and it really does look nice because it looks totally 3D. |

It's all solid color except for the background, but I was confused about what to do for the shading.
For the red, I just multiplied the original picture over it about 15 percent, and the rest I got from different settings under blending options.
I was trying to follow a tutorial, but I really didn't know what I was doing. x[

Waitwhat?
What'd you put on different settings on blending options?
If you used some image, it's not a vector.
And if you used photoshop, did you use vector masks? |

I do know that after I used the pen tool to get the shapes, I used a different method of shading using blending options for each separate layer,
because that was the only way I knew how.
I have absolutely no idea what the correct way is. D: |

The way you'd make it all vector is to use gradients for shadowing, since gradients work for vector graphics too. It's not gonna do anything for your image except mean you can't enlarge or shrink it with no effects, that's all. It still looks really neat, and it's nice for a first attempt, mine was a total failure. |
