There were several threads about what genre they are, so I'm deleting those, and making an new one.
Are they emo, rock, pop, alternative, punk?
What do you think?
Discuss it here. =]

Age: 103 Gender: Female Posts: 4265 | November 16th, 2006 at 06:12pm They're really hard to catagorize, because they're different from everything out there. ;D But in a good way of course.
I'd have to say it varies from CD to CD...the first one was more alternative/emo, second one pop/punk, and The Black Parade seems more rock/punk.
But that's just my opnion. |

knights of cydonia. Salute You in Your Grave
Age: - Gender: Female Posts: 3083 | January 15th, 2007 at 10:19pm I'd say rock but if you want to get really techincal, I'd say punk. Or alternative. But like someone said before, it depends on their different albums. Overall, it would be punk then. The Black Parade is just a bit more emo but you're not basing the whole genre on that. |

Age: 36 Gender: Male Posts: 85 | January 16th, 2007 at 03:22pm I consider them this new style of a Punk and Metal combination. It's obviously unheard of and never done before. It's obviously not Thrash Metal. But, it's a different combination of the two. |

Age: - Gender: Female Posts: 448 | January 17th, 2007 at 02:35am I (personally) think they are Emo Punk overall, but it depends because some songs sound very Metal/Hardcore and others are ballad-like. Which it good, the fact the differs from song to song. |
