Age: 36 Gender: Female Posts: 2281 | December 13th, 2006 at 04:57am There's a shit load of smoke here. Still, we're about 150kms away. Not so far considering how fast fire moves, but far enough that we're not in danger. The smoke is the biggest killer. It looks like winter morning all day, every day.
The fire front here in Vic is now 200km wide. It's gonna be worse tomorrow when the wind changes direction. I really worry for my friends in the CFA. |

Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 2263 | December 16th, 2006 at 07:32am yea. well it was pretty bad out here. The sky was red, and like, there was heaps of smoke. we have canaries (a type of bird) and they almost died. theyre the birds they used to put down mine shafts to see if the air was ok. So theyre really sensitive. They were hardly breathing when we got them in. |

Age: 30 Gender: Male Posts: 6842 | December 16th, 2006 at 05:40pm Meh. There was a bushfire about 20 minutes drive away from my house. There was so much smoke, I think almost the whole of Tasmania was blanketed. Seriously... anyone who lives there would know what I mean.
Oh hey, I heard that someone in Melbourne got hit by a fire truck while trying to put out a fire near his house and got killed. O_O |

Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 2263 | December 18th, 2006 at 02:49am Weird. Anyway, I had no idea TASMANIA was on fire. I just knew that like, 2 days ago, and then before that, our sky was red, and my eyes hurt from the smoke. No-one was outside, and it was kind of cool. Just this huge amount of wind, and a red sky and me. |

Age: 30 Gender: Male Posts: 6842 | December 19th, 2006 at 04:07am Oh yeah, Tassie has at least 5-6 bush fires still raging across the state. And I quote the news on that one, lololol. Luckily they're not babbling about it as much on TV as they were before. |
