long story about the dedication.
during the band before fftl a guy from backstage came out and we started talking and then he brb'd and went back, then came back out and said wait for it
then fftls set happened and me and the girl got the dedication and he came out and said 'that was my present' and we hugged him xD

when I saw them live it hit me twice "holy crap this is THEM. This is FROM FIRST TO LAST." the first is when I saw travis; not when I met him, but when I saw him from a distance and i realised "holy shit oh my god that's TRAVIS OH MY GOD I'M ABOUT TO SEE FROM FIRST TO LAST."
the second was after they'd come onstage; looking at the tattoos on Matt's arms. For some reason that hit me, the colours that i'd seen in so many pictures were REAL, the band was REAL and IN FRONT OF ME.

I remember muttering "That's travis." and walking away from my mom and sister
they claim they didn't hear me say anything and couldn't figure out why i was walk/running away from them. xD
oh my god, i remember being so disappointed that Ricky left the stage after waving; i had remembered hearing from like EVERYONE that he's so friendly, and i thought maybe he'd shout something at us. and then, y'know, he came out to see us. xD
I didn't cry but like, i went into that mode that only concerts and only the rare concerts can put you in, where nothing around bothers you anymore, you don't notice anything but the band, and you're singing every single word....

Well obvz in saying Star Wars i meant IV-VI, not the new ones. i mean seriously, with lines like "Oh, Annie! My how you've grown!" and "...HOW did we get ourselves into this one? We're smarter than this!", etc, you can't save it, no matter how many awesome special effects you have. xD i still have the video tapes, from BEFORE they put out the edited versions in the late 90s. :3 |
