Well, I decided, there's no point in making a thousand different threads such as "MUSE @ BDO" and "MCR".
Here, you can exchange allllll your BDO stories.
Post photos, talk about the shows, your personal experience, was it worthwhile, and everything in between.
For those who attended their first BDO (or attending) - was it what you expected? Better? Maybe worse?
Anything and everything about the Big Day Out you attended.

If your sister is over 18 you can.  Or you could probably get in if you look old enough anyway. They weren't exactly asking for people's ages or anything.
It was cool because the under 15s and their guardians had their own seperate line and there was only about ten or so of us. Thanks again to Kelsey for telling us. |

Someone died at BDO? I did not hear about that. In a mosh pit? I can definately see how that would happen, especially at a big festival.
Mosh pits have changed over the last few years though. All the ones I've been in, people have been looking out for each other. If you find yourself in trouble and need to get out, just ask someone to throw you up top and crowd surf to the front.
I hope no one gets hurt too badly... |

Cause opnly 300 people could get into the tent and I couldn't and I got the secruity guards to hand him the Mr Bean magazine and letter I gave him, he was like =0!!! And he yelled at Gerard "Look look!!!" When he saw the Mr Bean magazine. Then I held up a sign saying "Bob can I have a hug pleasE?" And after a while, he asked the security if he could they said no, so when they wern't watching he ran out of the tent and hugged me! Other people tried to get hugs but it didn't work for them.

Yeah, at the 2001 BDO in Sydney.
This girl was like right at the front while Limp Bizkit were on, and the crowd surged and she got crushed & died.
And Grinspoon played at her funeral because they were one of her favourite bands ^^,
After that they had a complete review type thing of all the security measures and all that shizz, and now they have the D-Barriers at the main stages, which basically divide the crowd and allow security/medical people easier access to the crowd and any people in trouble.
But D-Barriers suck arse and you have to wait like 2 hours to get in for one of the later bands, like Tool.
Actually it will be a lot longer than that to get in for Tool...
I think I'm gonna get there really early and stay in it all day XD
Bahaha, did anybody see Sunrise this morning?
Apparently they are discouraging people from bringing Australian flags to the Sydney BDO in order to stop racism.
They also moved it from Australia Day to the 25th of January for the same reason.
Last year there were "gangs" there who made people pledge their allegience to Australia, or threatened to bash them.
& they had Morris Iemma (the NSW premier) on there saying how un-Australian banning flags at the BDO would be XD
But seriously, fuck that, I'm going to wear my bogan clothes, lol my friends & I all have thongs & bucket hats with the Australian flag on them (purchased specifically for BDO), and some of us even have T-shirts XD
Aaaand, I have a tattoo of the Southern Cross, and my friend Eli has one of the flag. Lawlz we are so going to get targeted for being racist, I can tell XD |
