The Universe

I used to the the universe stretched forever. Now I'm beginning to wonder if that's possible. Maybe the universe is spherical, like a planet. But the I wonder what's outside of the sphere.
So, this is where we can discuss this:

What is the universe like? What shape is it?

I think we will never realise how big it really is ..
can you imagine how far away 1 lightyear is ?
Sometimes I wonder if the universe is "it" or if it's a part of an even bigger "it"lol
I never come to a solution that i'm satisfied with.
usually i just stop thinking about it .. but since ther's a topib on the subject...

I always get a headache when I'm thinking about this...

I think there is an end, but it would be pretty much impossible to ever actually get there.

That's the thing, though. How can there be an end? What would happen if you reached the end? How can there be nothing on the other side of the end?

What if there's a number of universes? Like, we're one galaxy, but there's mulitple galaxies out there. What if we're one universe and there's multiple universe out there?

I kind of like the idea that our bit of the universe might be a tiny little part of another, larger bit of the universe. Like in Men in Black. So maybe we're all inclosed in a marble or a locker at an alien Grand Central Station.

Haha, that's...erm....one way to think of it, Resurgam. But the way druscilla (and many reference sites =P) puts it, the universe is just that: the universe.

^well, yes, as in, this and several other galaxies are in a marble which is contained within a larger galaxy....I don't know why I'm even arguing this; I don't really believe it, I just think it's an interesting way to think of things.

Edit: Oh, but on a slightly more relevant note, I do think the universe is infinite, because I don't think there could be anything where it would end.

The universe is gigantic....as big as we wish to see it. I honestly dont think there's any science to prove it but that its all in bilief. I don't think we'll be around long enough to see it.
