I think this just shows HOW popular/commercial (if you like) the mcr music has got. If anyone's in England and is watching ITV1, the new series "The Bad Mother's Handbook" had Famous Last Words playing in the background of one scene where the "teenage daughter" character was being especially "moody".
There was even an MCR poster on her bedroom wall.
Sorry to sound harsh but can you imagine them using "Our Lady of Sorrows" in the background of a primetime television programme? I love MCR and I AM still a fan, I just think this is proof how much they've changed.

Age: 36 Gender: - Posts: 2442 | February 20th, 2007 at 10:45am don't kill me, but somehow i agree that superstardom would distance them from their fans. I love the guys, I really do, there's just so much respect that I have for them. But I feel that if they get... too famous, then they lose touch with their fans. I feel horrible saying this cuz i know Gerard and gang wouldn't want that to happen, but i feel that that's the scenario should they get too famous. Even if they don't let superstardom get to their heads (and I believe they won't), their managers/ guards will create a barrier of sorts. It's inevitable, I know, and I'm really happy that they got huge. But I guess we're allowed to feel this small sense of... bittersweet sadness at the prospect of them losing touch with their fans. Y/N? |

Age: 32 Gender: Female Posts: 3176 | February 20th, 2007 at 03:05pm ^ yeah that's true, but there are a lot of 'teenie' fans who seem to ruin it, not to say that newer fans aren't just as loyal as old ones, or anything.
do mcr, or their record label/management, have to give permission for their song to be used in a programme, like that, or can tv shows just go ahead and put it in there? |

Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 959 | February 20th, 2007 at 09:16pm yes! inaccesable!! less sacred! I have been trying to find a way to explain that I hate the fact that they are so famous without sounding mean! I'm happy that their music is so popular, and its a good thing that they have made it big. But I just hate the fact that so many people like the music now, not because of what it says but because its on he radio and tv so much. I know the guys just want their message out there but most people that are 'fans' really aren't getting the message.
Plus there is the fact that I just dont wanna share my favourite band with the teenies *pouts* |

Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 9830 | February 20th, 2007 at 09:21pm Again, not all new fans are teenies. Some do really appreciate MCR and there music. New fans don't become fans to annoy old fans. Also in a way if MCR is on the TV or radio then more people might buy there record so its goood for them. I understand you, but not all new fans are teenies. |

lol see what I mean? i cant explain it without sounding mean!! I know that new fans can get into MCR just as much as the ones who have been there from the start. I myself have only been a fan since revenge. But you have to admit its upsetting when you see Welcome to the Black Parade on someones 'Fav Song' list along with Smack That and Fergalicious |

Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 9830 | February 20th, 2007 at 09:33pm Yes I fully agree with that. I've been a fan since September 06' and i hate being called a teenie because of when I started liking them. I hate teenies, they don't know anything about the band or anything. But if you look at it in the way that MCR are gettting more money I suppose its a good way. [/end of my spam] |

OMG just to prove your point i am watching BBC 1 Real Story (don't ask why) and they just played part of MCR WTTBP on it during a controlled car crash!!!
i was just sat on the sofa and i didn't recognise it at first because of the cars skidding on tv
ps. this shocked me... straight after playing MCR they played Riding Dirty and now continue playing bits of it!!!
