I think it has in a lot of ways. No offense but a lot of the time they kinda blew live. But I think Gerard's voice has grown a lot. Especially since "Bullets"
Umm, I'd definately say yes for the live shows. You can tell that Gerard's voice has become better since he has been sober.
I like his voice on all the albums though. I don't think it has improved, but the different complexes have been shown on "The Black Parade".
yeah of course gerard's voice has improved a lot in live shows... about the albums though, I think his voise is awesome in all of them, the music itself is just different..
You can definitely detect a difference in the strength and clarity of his voice between 2004 and 2005. When you're drinking, your body gets deprived of oxygen and you have less control over your vocal cords. Now that he's sober, he has increased lung capacity and he can exert more control over his voice. If he stops smoking, he'll become an incredible vocal virtuoso. He has a magnificent voice and he has to learn train it. The more you sing, the better you get.
I think Gerard sounds awesum in the studio, but a couple of years ago his live performances weren't as good as the CDs.
But now I think he's learnt to control and manipulate his voice better, and he's carrying the high notes brilliantly now. Before he was rather flat (forgive me Gee!).
And I agree, as soon as he gives up smoking (I know he can do it) he'll be even better.
Oh definately, compare it to any old vid and you'll wanna plug your ears. I love gerard to death and all but I mean, there have been times I'd see a vid and go damn, I'd wanna boo you off the stage lovee.
Much more improvement, especially Gerard's part. He can go without making unecessary and slightly disturbing filler-sounds.
And now he sounds mucho angel-like.
Here's an example of old Gerard singing....I love his performance but it's defiently not as...high in quality you could say. Still I miss classic MCR so damn much!
As far as his voice on the actual albums go, it barely sounds like the same voice he's gotten so much better. But has anyone noticed that he can't really hit the notes he hits on 'the black parade' live? All of that smoking can't be good...
WEll the boy has his needs.
I think TBP yeah, live it isn't so high out there. Yet again, since it was such a big song on the album, he probably did a MILLION takes for it.
Pshh, Ray's got the better singing voice out of the two of them definitely. I think that on the record RAY is actually the one singing the melody on WTTBP's chorus, and Gerard's singing the harmony. That /is/ how they do it at shows afterall and if you listen closely, very closely, you can kind of hear it switching up or whatever. I turned my CD player all the way up to see, haha.
Overall, I think Gerard's voice has improved. It's more pure. And he of course sounds older.
Still think Ray owns though. He could be a lead singer somewhere.
