I don't think I can agree with you anymore. What you said are my thgoughts exactly. My life has been horrible since I can remember. My parents fought, my dad came home drunk alot, everything is/was fucked up. I had wanted to commit suicide. I tried. I heard Sonny's voice and it was like a light of hope for me. |

It aint that hard to tell when somebody is posing, and I see a LOT of posers. 12 year olds talking about how *so and so*, "saved their life"...stfu and finish 6th grade. Geezus. It just defiles people who have actually been helped by bands when that phrase just gets thrown around. And it does. Too much. "OmG, *blah blah* lYkE, saVed My sooUUlllL!!!!" Please. true depression sufferers need medical attention. If a song SOLEY cured you of depression, you weren't clinically depressed. Not most people.
Okay. Listen. Firstly: Please don't try to "understand" or "know" anyone by one sentence he or she said. Over the fucking internet.
Secondly: So fucking what if she's 12. You're only 16, are you not? That makes you only four years older. So please, don't use that as an arguement. Yes, many younger people do fit your generalization of saying stuff cause everyone else says it, but fucking hell. Don't generalize. Don't assume that she said that JUST becuase everyone else said it, or JUST because she wants to be cool.
Thirdly: So now for a song to save your life, you need to be clinically depressed?! You have to be on the verge of death and suicidal? What if someone had a bad relationship and were feeling down. Maybe something that an artist said made them feel better, sure, it didn't save their life, but it sure as hell made them feel better!! Wasn't that what MCR meant by "Saving Lives?" I highly doubt they were taking it literally, to extremes such as the medical conditions you mentioned.
So maybe Sonny Moore wrote something that helped the girl someway or another, and its a big deal to her. Sure, she wasn't gonna die and it didn't really saveher from death. But it made a difference.
And thats what she meant. And I'm pretty sure thats what MCR meant as well. |
