And she was standing at the posters saying, "aaaamy, loooook...." and I'm like, "ooooh it's MCR!"
penrith...i didn't think there'd be much out there to attract groups of scenies! maybe it's different now, i haven't been there in ages.
parklea markets- I'm definitely checking that out!
hey quinn is that 'location' store a band merch store? i don't remember ever seeing a band merch shop around there & I walk around the city alot. Which station is it close to? townhall? certainly not central...
its not a merch store.
its really fashiony so i was surprised to see it hanging at the window.
its near central station.
eddy avenue exit. where all the coaches are and you walk up to around raven footwear. its near there.

Age: 36 Gender: Female Posts: 2188 | April 20th, 2007 at 07:45am i really can't picture that Location shop...I know where Raben's footwear is- you must be talking about the one further up George St. ANYWAYS- Rabens Footwear needs a mention! The hardcore punk boots they sell kinda freaks me out, but they look good when the right people wear them...BUT, I recently bought a pair of black leather, hard soled, lace-up boots from there & I am IN LOVE with them...& I've never spent a better 150bux before...& when mum saw them she said, "are you into the gothic style?"....hmph nope. |

Age: 36 Gender: Female Posts: 2188 | April 20th, 2007 at 07:59am alex vamvi, lol nothing's going to happen if you walk into those stores by yourself ahaha, I actually like shopping by myself, but then it was different when I was 13. There's a CD/bandmerch shop in sydney....but i wouldn't take my mum there if i don't need to lol & i took my non-rock music listening friends there and you could outright tell they were uncomfortable. So yeh- there are stuff inside those stores that are quite disturbing (eg: I never look at anything to do with metal music)...
the other day I walked into this goth store in Newtown which is the scariest store i've set foot in, in my entire life (eeks). there were skeletons of animals etc & all this witch stuff...but i just went in to look at the clothes to satisfy my curiosity for anything related to fashion. |

Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 1359 | April 21st, 2007 at 08:56am I really want to go shopping too. But these are my reasons for not going to the shops.
1) My brother says its pointless and won't drive me there...
2) I don't know where the stores are
3) I don't have time to
4) I can't go to far places by myself
5) My brother says its pointless and won't drive me there... |

The other day at uni, we learnt that Penrith is the hip-hop capital of Australia XD
& that's why 96.1 went from playing good music, to playing crap.
Yeah. We learn all this relevant stuff lol

funny the things like that we get to learn at uni. I heard our lecturer was talking about this 'new subculture' with her tutorial- which happens to be the emo thing I believe & she said she's seen kids hanging around town hall dressed in this 'series of new fashion' that's between punk and goth...and this girl walking around maccas with like a black blindfold as an accessory- apparently she could see through it. That one I haven't heard of. but this description sounds more sophisticated than emo...could it be something else??
anyways to relate this to cool stores..aaha erm maybe that blindfold thing will become fashionable & the 'coolest' stores will sell them....& we'll all be walking around blind for fashion's sake. |
