Of course he sounds good in every song. But I was really struck by his vocals in "Desert Song". And "Sister to Sleep". I thought his voice was higher than I've ever heard it. |

I can never reach some of the notes he can for that song.
Many people may disagree with me though haha |

Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 492 | March 21st, 2007 at 08:34pm I love Gerard's vocals on all the songs, but there are some special ones, of course.
I was actually quite surprised and taken by his vocals in 'Desert Song'. I remember the first time I listened to it and I was just--it was almost like listening to another Demolition Lover to me. It was raw, sometimes off pitch, other times beautifully vocalized, emotional, scratchy, but instead of turning me off, it made my stomach lurch, and made me tear a bit. Not from being sad though, but from supressed excitement. I dunno...I can't describe it.
And of course, Demolition Lovers, because it had the same affect, but Desert Song had less instrument and more vocals--so I could focus on his voice more. Sometimes it feels like he's right next to me, singing it. >_>
Ghost of You--the vocalizing at the very end was what made me decided to look for more My Chem songs. I slowly fell in love with his voice, and I wanted more of it.
I Never Told You What I Did For A Living - I remember telling my friend, "I dunno if I love this song yet, but damn, those vocals!" The way he sang it just tore at my insides. Of course, now it's my 3rd most played off of Revenge.
AND, I just love the litlte things that he adds to the songs.
In Jetset, "Aww, sugar" and the accent on "Hotel Bella Muerte", the tongue rolling on "House of Wolves", the intensifying "woah-ohs" in "The End", the crazed singing "Prison" ...I could go on. x_x |

And when he hits that high note in Cemetery Drive. |

Sleep - I might be weird but I really like hearing him scream/screech in songs. LOVE the WAKE UP part!
Cancer
Blood - almost doesn't sound like him and that's why I love it so
Early Sunsets...that last line always gets turned up when I'm listening
Desert Song
Prison
Vampires
Cemetery Drive - Someone said they liked the one high part at the end. Me too
Hang 'Em High - all that angry snarling in the beginning is incredible....like I said I'm strange.
The Sharpest Lives - first time I heard it I was immediately sucked into that song cause of how it's sung. Still my fave from TBP.
That's it for now, I think. |
