I thought this would be a nice starter.

What do you use to make noise?

A Casio electronic keyboard and my horribly out of tune Yamaha CS40 acoustic guitar.

Not very impressive, but I love them both anyways, and am saving up my pocket money to buy a new guitar.

Are you planning on getting an electric or a new acoustic?

I have a phenomenal acoustic Fender.

Honestly, I want an electric. But I'm still browsing through brands and well, I'm undecided at the moment. I guess I'll just have to see how much money I manage to save up, then I'll decide.

Would you consider yourself a newcomer to the guitar?
Or even, are you really into the playing?
Because if guitar is somethingyou really want to play I suggest you get a good guitar, even though it might cost you a bit.

I don't know, maybe I should make a "What should I get?" thead... Nah, that can wait.

I think that thread can wait a while, haha.

I'm not really a newcomer to guitar, I guess. I had acoustic lessons about 4 years ago for a year or two, then quit when I couldn't spare the time to practice and regularly attend lessons.

But when I graduate this year, I'm planning on seriously learning the guitar, cause it's still one of my biggest loves.

I'm planning on getting a good guitar, definetly. I might try my luck and beg my parent's to pay for half of the price. xD

Then you have to consider weigth and size and stuff. Just go to your nearest dealer and see what fits your body.

Then you're set.

My beautiful acoustic guitar.

Playing that guitar is pretty much my life.

I pretty much just sit in my room most of the day practicing.

You could say i'm a big perfectionist when it comes to music.

Hey, a new section! I used to be a musician... and I seriously regret quiting in music... But anyway I used to play the flute and the piano, especially at school although I didn't own any instruments apart from the flute I borrow from school and a toy piano I used to have when I was very young.... You guys are all so lucky to still play an instrument... I would like to try and play the guitar though...

I have one acoustic and one classical guitar.
The acoustic is supposed to be my brother's but I asked if I could have it, and he said yes.
But now it seems that he's taken over it again. -.-'''

What a fickle-minded thing.

i feel bad that i don't know "the best/coolest" instrument brands etc but,
i've played piano for 5 years? drums - only a few months. and hopefully bass lessons after the summer.
my family own a lot of instruments, flute, guitar (acoustic/electric), keyboard, piano, drums, saxophone, etc, but i'm the only one interested in music in a big way.

Oh wow, let's see. My primary instrument is guitar. I'll try and find some photos, and edit this post in a min.
I also play the tenor horn, cornet and a bit of clarinet.
I've been playing music since I was about 5, started with the clarinet, then guitar, tenor horn and now cornet. =)

I have a washburn electric... its old and sounds horrible compared to my Ibanez RG 350. Though, the fact that the humbuckers are dying may have somehting ot do with that. xD

Does anyone here know where to find Stratacaster guitar in the Toronto Area? I've been looking for a while and I can't seem to find one at Long & Mcquade.
