can't one of you learn bass, and one of you learn drums? None of you will have to give up playing guitar. My last band had a drummer as a bassist because we already had a drummer. You can still play guitar but play bass/drums in the band. It's always good if band manbers can play each others instuments anyways coz you can all help each other out |

Posts: 426 | January 6th, 2008 at 10:31am Yeah, drummer is actually probably the most important band member, even more than the vocalist. Maybe not to the eyes of the public, but it is.
My drummer && I were the first two members of our band. We just clicked soo well together, and we wrote four original songs, recorded them, and covered 8 songs and recorded them as well, just in a four month time span. He's one of the most amazing kid musicians I have ever met, and this band would be nothing without him.
Well, that's just my drummer. He's been playing drums for seven years, so yeah. You honestly need a good drummer. You dont need a good bassist, you need a good drummer, or else the band will suck. Because getting thrown off time is definitely not something you want during a show. =/ |

Posts: 279 | January 29th, 2008 at 04:24am Our band is coming along well. We have a permanent everything, and everyone just clicks really well and we all understand one another and want the same basic goals with our music.
We're called Collision Habit (no, you can't have, if you take, we're going to personally hunt you down and eat you alive).
Our vocalist is bloody AMAZING. I swear she's like the Amy Lee re-incarnate. And her name is Amy, so cool.
We're doing covers for now, until everyone is comfortable with writing their own music, although Amy and I are working on material.

Amy - Vocals
Courtney - Guitar
Lisa - Bass
Ilze (me) - Guitar
YEA. We have three guitarists. BEAT THAT.
Actually it's really hard having three guitarists, honestly. Courtney doesn't do anything half the time.
But you know what I think? I should shut the hell up and you guys should check us out. Hmm? Okay, well just think about it anyway. We're really nice to fans. You might even get free merch.
