Uhm, you know those flat drums you can get?, like these:
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/5410176.htm

Do they sound as good as normal drums?
mmthanks.
No.
and for that price, you're better off buying a proper one, a second hand mapex or pearl.

I'd love a real one, the thing is though, they are so much noiser than the headphoneones, and my mum would never let me have them unless I move into a desolate place 100 miles east x]

How much worse do they sound?

Drum tabs are so hard to find.
Haha, I felt spesh cause I know the start of Cemetery Drive, but you don't have to be a rocket scientist to figure it out.
I've played for just over a year now.
But whenever my drum teacher or my brother play for me and stuff, when they hit the snare, I flinch, everytime they hit it.
It's kind of embarrasing.
Anyone know where MCR drum tabs are?

I used to play percussion in band and I think I want to take up drums again so I'm going to save up some money and buy a set.

Does anyone have any tips on what to start out with and some excersises or just anything you could think of for me to know before I start?

I just took up guitar. I've also really wanted to learn drums. I hope to take it up soon.

I wasn't taught how to play the drums but my 37-year-old cousin has a set and it just came naturally to me. I absolutely love playing on his drum set, too, whenever we go to visit. I just wish we had enough room in our house so I could get a drum set. =\

never had lessons just listened and kept listening to songs til I got it close enough

Yeah, I'm the same way. I'll go to some local shows with my friends and watch them and try it out next time I go to my cousin's house or make some makeshift drums. I am always found making a drum set out of air on the bus when I'm jamming to my music, lol.

All drummers try to acheive one thing: total independence of each limb.
And keeping perfect time. Razz

Yep, basically. To be able to do drumming you have to be able to multi-task and be able to do it well, lol.

Admittedly, it's used, and it's a beginner's drum kit. But it's a drum kit =]

I'm so happy. My Drummer taught me a simple beat on the drums and some fills. Now I feel special. =)
