Boys Night Out Salute You in Your Grave Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 2684	March 21st, 2008 at 11:11am well, have you guys thought of getting lessons? It helps EXTREMELY. I've only been playing for half a year and I know so much it's unbelievable.

Yeah... I can copy easily but I cant read tabs to save my life. I cant do those drum rolls perfectly either O.O

Simple and Clean Salute You in Your Grave Age: 30 Gender: Female Posts: 2616	April 15th, 2008 at 04:50pm xF.w.A.n.K.i.Ex: Im learning, but Im still not very confident yet. everytime I get a beat going I freeze up and lose my control and a stick goes here and another goes that way and it's just a disaster...I hit my cat once.... Best way is to start slowly. Do it slowly untill you have it down. Then gradually increase the speed. I often start going to fast too soon, as my teacher often points out.And of course, practice makes perfect.

Jazz Hands Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 370	May 1st, 2008 at 04:12pm My dad plays drums for a living but for some reason I could never really get into it, I think its because you really cant play it by yourself. Its more fun when you have a band or something but thats not always available.

That and I pratice what he shew me last lesson. I can also play with my MP3, since my kit allows me to plug it in to it and play along.

Im deprived of anything but five tape recorders so I record all the parts then click play at the same time and hope it works out XD My dad wont let me touch the Pro Tools rig in his studio

To everyone else has been saying, it can be kinda difficult at first, but once you get the hang of it it is the most amazing instrument. It's fun above all. So, question, what equipment does everyone use?? I have a dixon kit, which is terrible, but i love my ride cymbal: Zildjian

The music's kinda hard to read..and I don't really know how to find song..music...stuff so I can play drums from songs I know. I thought it was different in the way the notes are. LOL I'm pretty much failing here.

I really need to buy a practice pad to practice my rolls on, I suck at them. Using the snare is always an option, but I still want a practice pad.

I have trouble with topping. my arms are too short. but yeah its better when u get lessons. I've been doing so since I was 8 or 9. I'm currently 11 and drum lessons are still rolling rhiannon.: I'm learning, I got a cheap set off of Ebay and I think I'm not bad at it. LOL I'm pretty much failing here. DON'T GIVE UP!! DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT!!! :O you'll get used to it.
