Gang-rape was an experiment: prosecutor
I just found this article, continuing the discussion from the Politics thread, I thought it was more appropriate to be in here, just so we're not spamming =]
It's about the 10 year old girl who was raped by 9 men, who either didn't get convicted, or recieved suspended sentences

Just, wow. How on earth anybody can say it was consentual is beyond me.
She was TEN YEARS OLD.

That's horrible.

This is an article which is also horrible and reduced me to tears a number of nights ago. The guy was my first boyfriend, and I was going out with him when he died.

I don't have a source for you to read but I found out tonight that one of my best friends since kindergarten/primary school was in a accident thursday on the pacific highway. I heard from another person he is in a "serious but stable condition" But its just hearsay I guess. GAHHHHH I wanna know what happening. I feel so shithouse Sad

EDIT: wow its worse then i thought. Four car pile up a car crossed onto his side of the road speeding, he was the first car so got hit front and back. He flatlined on the way to the John Hunter hospital, broken pelvis, shattered elbow, broken jaw. He is going to be in hospital upto 4 months.

i have a couple for today:

"Two young women who cold-bloodedly killed a 16-year-old girl because she "pushed their buttons" and then dumped her body in a wheelie bin pleaded guilty to the murder in a Perth court today."
daym...

and:

"A 48-year-old man encouraged his daughter to take birth control pills so his sexual abuse of her would not be exposed by an unwanted pregnancy, a court has been told. The court was told the father of four began abusing his daughter just after her 14th birthday, and continued until she was almost 17. He had sexual intercourse with her a number of times in her bedroom and had threatened her with violence. The teenager would not be allowed out of the house to visit friends until she had performed oral sex on her father, the court was told."

holy shit. what is happening to the world...

I heard of that first article, but about the father and daughter?
That is just absolutely disgusting. I can't even find words to describe how inhumane that is.
There is not one person on this entire planet that should be subjected to any type of sexual abuse, let alone having to endure such treatment by your own father.

It's worst when it's in your own family. It makes the victim much less inclined to speak out. Not only do they have to worry about the usual things when reporting the abuse, they have to worry about how it's going to affect the family. It's enough to make many people keep it to themselves.

It's sad that 1 in 3 Australian women are sexually abused. But sadder is the fact that only 1 of 10 are reported.

I agree.
I never realised the statistics were that shocking.
It really puts things into perspective, and that's just appalling.
