Yea I absolutely LOVE this one opening song to an somewhat old Korean tv show
the show is called Rooftop Room Cat and its the opening song to it
it anyone knows what this is called please tell and also if you know where i could download it!!!!!
I'm rather fond of Dir En Grey (first song I heard and fell in love with was 'Scars'), and I do listen to some J-Rock, dabbled a bit in visual kei bands, but I tend not to like some of the overly popular ones like Miyavi and Gackt. Ugh...don't get me started on Gackt...Miyavi I can enjoy, but Gackt...o_o; Should have stayed with Malice Mizer.
I remember also liking Asian Kung-Fu Generation for a while (from Naruto), but got bored. >_<
The only thing that really keeps me from falling deeply in love with J-Rock is that I can't understand anything! I like to sing/shout along with the song, and absorb the meaning along with the music, but foreign languages limits that. That's not to say I don't enjoy them, not just as much as I would...if that made sense.
Anyways, I'm happy Dir En Grey is coming over here...touring and everything. Pretty cool...I might see them.

I missed the show ('cause it was a short notice) but I remember seeing their tour dates on the HOt Topic website. So, yeah...missed them though, mostly because I couldn't get a ride to SF (and no one wanted to come with me >_> ).
I love how people say "I like J-rock".
J-Rock is huge.
It's the widest genre ever.
I like Plastic Tree and Dir En Grey, I guess. They're progressive, at least.
Yeah, it is pretty broad but I think that the person who made this thread thought that individual threads of most Jrock artists would probably go ignored on here.

exactly.
i saw a diru (dir en grey..hence my username) thread on here a while ago and it soon dissapeared cos for some reason people on here prefer emo music *holds tounge as she doesnt want to get banned*
*cough*any form of japanese music pwns emo*cough*
and its also for j-pop (<3s tm revolution and daisuke asakura)
and ...KOREAN MUSIC!!! (hates it when people say they like *any* music but totally ignore korean stuff) i hate to say it but i cant even call korean boybands super junior and dbsk a guilty pleasure...cos i dont feel guilty for liking them
and..i dunno
...
..
I LOVE NIGHTMARE AND MUCC ,by the way did anyone catch the japanese rock feature in this months rock sound..(it was straight after the mcr feature..if you made it that far lol)
Surely there must be asian bands that are shit too. Right?
Yes. There are, of course. I've heard a lot of awful asian songs in my life.
I'm not into J-rock or K-pop at all, but I used to be in a taiwanese mandopop boyband phase. I went crazy over 5566 and their many teen dramas. They're all adorable, and just crazy hilarious.
This 2 were the theme songs of the hit drama 'My MYP Valentine' that made them famous back in 2002. They've improved a lot since then though.
They've released 3 albums so far, I think. And host and act in several awesome shows.
I listen to Malay music some time too on the radio and on MTV Jus, seeing as I'm from Singapore and we're multiracial.
Erm, though I'm presuming that by asian music this is limited to Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Canto and Hokkien?
I thought so. However, I have noticed that in Sweden, or at least my town, the trendy scene kids will praise anything because it's Japanese, even though they'd hate a similar band from any other place.
Such hypocrisy makes it seem like all fans of J-rock are idiots, which is unfair.
My cousins are obsessed with j-rock & k-pop.
ASIAN REPRESENT.
Ahem... anyways, my older cousin used to lovelovelove Alice Nine, but I'm not sure if they're around anymore.
DBSK's video for Balloons is the most adorable thing ever.
Oh, and Rain is nice. (:
There's this Korean restaurant that plays videos of Rain's MVs and live performances 24/7. I LOVE it!
