A recent commercial for Sprint phone company has name-dropped MCR. The concept of the video is two guys with sunglasses discussing on what music artist they should try to "get." At the end of the commercial:
Guy 1: Maybe Joss Stone.
Guy 2: Or My Chemical Romance.
Guy 1: Can't! How?
Guy: 2: "pulls out phone"
Guy 1: New phone, huh? |

Because Joss Stone is kind of like... a legend, you know. And so that means the guys are really movin' on up 
And I'm guessing they, the guys I mean, actually didn't know about this commercial, so I wouldn't call it selling out. I wouldn't say they were anyway though, so that doesn't matter.
So wait, does the guy actually pull out of the phone or something. Like, a picture or something?

FOB ad? What is that one bout? What is it for?
IT was cell/media commercial. The guy's like one of those meathead kind of guys and he's working out in a gym. He's talking to the camera, and puts his earphones on the camera(us, I guess), and it's Arms Race...then he gets a call from his girlfriend, takes the phone back and the commercial ends. So, the FOB one was more than a name drop, but that doesn't surprise me one bit.
I don't remember which phone ad it was, but it came on a lot back when I used to watch TV. |
