i have been playing the violin for nearly 6 years now.
it was the first instrument i learned how to play and i found it really easy!
then i started other instruments
so i really have my violin to thank for my current interest in music!

Oh yeah. I've watched that before. She's amazing! If only we could have such an amazing violinist who does My Chem covers. =/

O_O Oh wow. You used guitar tabs, right? I have trouble transfering those.

I found sheet music for Cancer, and, gah, I forgot how to read the treble clef. xD

There's a couple posts. One in the Sheet Music thread, and one in the Tab Requests thread.

It's piano sheets, but it has the vocal part written seperately from the piano part.

Okay, so if someone were to just play the melody of like say Cancer ect. (on a violin)
do you think that they better have a back up track or would it be pretty cool just as is?

I think it would fine just as it is, without anything else behind it.

So it wouldn't be boring or just.... blah? What do you think would spice it up?

=/ I dunno. I wouldn't use anything in the background. All I can think of is having really strong dynamics. xD

Unless you could arrange with a friend to do a duet. One person could do vocals, one could do the guitar part.

I don't know if I really count as a violinist (or if I should be in the musician's forum) because I only started taking lessons last summer. My mom won my violin in a raffle. The only songs I can play apart from the exercises in my book (which aren't really songs) are Frere Jacques and Jingle Bells.

I was forced to play the violin for 4 years.
I hated it.
I quit this year.
And you know what?
I kind of miss it.

I've played violin since I was....13? on and off for 5 years now I guess. I do the Suzuki method and actually am kinda trianing to be a teacher. or at least i was, I mean that was the plan but then...I don't know, I haven't practiced in maybe a month >_< My little sister, Alex, can play though, basically any song she wants too, she just hears it and can play it. SO unfair but yeah.

I'm actually rethinking the teaching thing, I think that I really do want to get certified this summer as a book 1 teacher.
good yes? No?
Any thoughts?

erm... I´ve always liked the voice of violin, or viola, and violin music commonly. Last year, my passion of violins started to grow, and I really, really would like to take up playing it. But the thing is... Am I too old? I mean, I´ve read that you should start playing between ages of four and seven... And, yes, I much older.
So, what do you think? What is the right age to start(what would have been)? When it´s "too" late? Whoah, lots of question, but I would be pleased if anyone of you could answer atleast one of these, thank you :3

You're never too old. I'm a violin teacher and my oldest learning right now is in her 50s, and she's still learning and getting it down.
