That you don't have to give a f*ck about what anyone thinks of you
To be myself
To say what I think and feel with confidence; with no fear
That ABSOLUTE amazingness exists (:
It's okay to want revenge
It's okay to not be o-f*cking-kay
That suicide is stupid

.. I LOVE MCR.

As a kid, I lived in an area I never felt like I belonged, I was the only kid of my race and I was always bullied. I started cutting myself when I was 9 cause I hated myself for being different and not having friends. Once MCR came into my life, I learned to be ok with the fact I was different and to embrace it.
The taught me how important it was to live.
They inspired me to get an education.
They inspired me to care to and be nice to people and treat everyone equally reguardless.
They taught me it's ok to dream and dream big and how to get over when those dreams when they don't always work out.
They taught me there's better things to do when I'm upset then cut myself of want to kill myself.
They inspire me to be the best person I can be.

MCR was the only thing that got me through some of my roughest times

They taught me to not let anyone run over me, not to hide so much so now I am myself...(?) xD And not be afraid of death and if some things are coming the opposite way, then I try to do what I think is right for me and myself. :]

MCR taught me:
~to be myself.
~to have the confidence to stand up for myself.
~that, no matter how you start out, you have the power to change the lives of people for the better.
~that death is not something that should be feared... but it isn't something that should be experienced before you've even lived.
~That no matter what any boy says, no matter what rumours people spread about me, I am still beautiful. I am still me. and I shouldn't be expected to be anything more or less than that. Smile

My Chem taught me to like music, and later appreciate it.
Their music taught me to play bass, one of the two things I'm actually good at.

To not give in. Ever. For anyone. To keep fighting, no matter how hard it seems.

And

That there are five...well, four now I guess...guys who are just as messed up as me.

There are five guys who are just as messed up as me.

I can look and act the way that *I* like, and not worry if other people think I'm freak. I can accept my oddness and let my freak flag fly. I can push the boundaries, I can say FUCK YOU to the idea that suicide is the answer. I can fight for myself.

Shit....I've been listening to this band for 7 years? That's nuts. I went through all kinds of stages with these guys - their first album is pretty fucked up, and rocked my world in a dark time. Progressively, I learned to listen to their stuff as a story, and appreciate their music for what it was and what kind of passion was put into the creation versus internalizing the individual (haunting) messages that can be brought from each song. Black Parade pushed me through a terse, punk kid phase.
It also brought me out of it.
Now, reflecting back and listening to their newest album, I truly appreciate the stories that have been told, and realize that success can be achieved and defined by each and every one of us, as individuals. It's a beautiful thing.

They've taught me that "pissing away your life on suicide is fucking bullshit!", which has helped me for years. Every time I meant to do it, like I really meant to do it, I would listen to Headfirst For Halos. I would listen to it over and over and I would cry and it would be so powerful. I'm still breathing, so I suppose something worked. They also taught me that it's okay to be fucked up. It's okay to be a little messed up in your head. It's fucking okay to be who you are and who you were born to be.

They have taught me that people can be whores and will betray you sometimes. That homosexuals have feelings too. That some people will not give you the time of day. That you should be a happy person. And that you do not need to take life to seriously.
