MCR were supposed to play this evening at Heineken Jammin Festival in Venice, Italy.
Right before they were coming out on stage a violent storm started and in just a matter of seconds everything started to crash: from tents to maxi screens, to lights, just everything got destroyed.
The show was obviously stopped and the crowd (about 20.000 people) has been evacuated.

Littlestar:I'm still scary about what happened yesterday...
We were waiting for MCR performance, when it started to rain and then there was a hailstorm. The wind was so strong that made 8 (of 10) metallic towers with the maxi screens fell down. Many people were near this towers, so 30 people got hurt and are in hospital at the moment. The stage was moved by the wind too.
The festival was cancelled (also today and tomorrow...). There were 20,000 people waiting for MCR, The Killers, Linkin' Park and Pearl Jam and I was there from 9 am in the first row.
It was a dream-come true for me and now I can only thank God to be well and safe at home.
OMG, The Black Parade is really trying to kill MCR and their fans!!!
rommy:I am really starting to believe this tour is cursed!
My friend and I were lying in the shades of one of those steel towers all afternoon cause it was so hot and just before first Italian band started to play were asked to leave cause they were closing the area with fences.
We went down to the stage, found Teja and her friend and my Finnish friend finnaly managed to join us there as well just as the last Italian band was on stage and we were getting impatient waiting for MCR...
Just as they started to set the stage for them, it started raining like hell, heavy wind and everything and we weren´t really aware of what was going on behind us, we were just trying to not get soaking wet - which didn´t work, my shoes are still not dry.
My friend later said she heard things break and people scream but I just remember seeing everyone run to the side and I was thinking they were just trying to get away from the rain..
It felt like forever but I think it was all over in like 5 minutes and there was nothing but big mess, ambulances and a lot of confused people waiting to see what happens now. I think for like 15 minutes we didnt even realize yet that it was a serious situation and people got hurt and stuff got broken - we were just standing there confused, waiting for the show to go on and security people started moving the fences away from the stage and eventually someone managed to say it in English that everything was over and pointed out the broken and destroyed steel towers behind us that had speakers, screens and lights on before.
It felt like a funeral looking back to the stage that had huge MCR sign hanging off it |
