Gerard Way at the International Comic-con in San Diego, California! 7/28/07

| VampireCupcake Bleeding on the Floor  Age: 32 Gender: Female Posts: 1450 | Sorry if I'm posting this in the wrong place or if someone already posted something about this. At the Dark Horse booth, Saturday, 7/28/07, Gerard Way came to the Comic-con. The day before, you had to get a ticket to raffle if you could see him or not. Only 100 people could meet him. I won one of the passes to see him. They were handing out the preview to The Umbrella Academy and The Umbrella Academy posters for his to sign. You couldn't take pictures with him or have a conversation. But, you could take pictures of him, so yes, I have a lot. Me and my friends were there at 11:00 in the morning and we didn't have to come back till 12:30 to meet him, so we went and sat in the hall to eat some food right in front of the entrance of the booth. All of a sudden, we looked up and Gerard, with a lot of body guards, walked passed us. We shot up and grabbed all our stuff and ran to the booth where we saw Gerard, talking with a lot of people in this room sort of thing. I was freaking out; I couldn't believe what was happening, that I was actually seeing Gerard in person. I was one of the first people in line to meet him. I stayed in line and when I got up there to meet Gerard, he shook my hand and smiled and said, "Hi, how are you?" I was shaking so badly, I had no idea what to say. It was very generic. All I said was good. How are you? He said he was good and he smiled again and asked what my name was. I said it was Megan and then he singed my Umbrella Academy poster and preview comic book as, "Megan, XOXO, G". I said it is very nice to meet you and thank you very much, and then I got out of line. I think all together, it was less then 5 minutes? He was really, very nice. There is a lot more I wish I said. It was amazing. If anyone else was there, did you get to see him too? You could tell it was very hushed hushed.  Its funny, cause I was really mad that I couldn't go to Projekt Revolution, but now I'm very glad that I went to the comic-con instead.  |
