I've been wanting to say this for some time, so I'm starting this thread. I don't care if I get slated, and I don't care if it gets locked or deleted. I want it off my chest so here goes, for better or for worse. Please feel free to add your own to it!

If Gerard ever read this, I'd want him to see the following:

Not everyone is concerned with the hickeys on your neck, analyzing your every move or what your hair looks like that day. Some of us are laughing at the silly and wild rumours about you, and most of us love all five of you the same.

Some of us love all three albums equally, because they're all different forms of My Chemical Romance. The majority of us DO get the message you meant to send, and have more respect for you all then to force our way into your personal lives.

And a few of us disregard associating ourselves with the word "fan" for the negative connotations that word has picked up since we started following this band.

And all of us thank you, in our own ways, for touching our hearts, opening up our minds, and giving all of yourselves, unselfishly, to an assortment of random strangers.

Keep the faith, Gerard!

Sincerely, Deb

I was waiting for someone to say that! I dont even bother to attempt to go in the PLOTB Thread. It feels like everyone is against the band, and completely voilating their privacy. It's okay to know them to some extent, but when people are constantly following their every move and analysing them like a bunch of lab rats it isnt fair.

Nice one for saying that Deb.

Thanks, Jade. The PLOTB is locked again, who knows why? I personally would be thrilled to see it abolished. I've made friends from there, it's true, but it turned into something I never expected. Although I admittedly felt a bit soiled the first time I ever clicked on it, I figured it'd contain info like who's married, where they live, do they have kids, etc. Once I saw what it was, I sort of went on a bit of a mission to try and be the voice of reason in there. Then Elizagate happened and we all lost it, worrying that she'd be the death of our band. And now?

Now it's nothing but a Gerard-bashing thread, and I personally feel that, whatever the man has done in his life (and who doesn't have skellies in their closet?) it is not our place to call him to task. I know some people believe that it is, but I am not among them, and I have been trounced a bit for taking this position. I've been told I'm biased, that I'm pathetic when it comes to this band, and that I'm a hypocrite because I see things from both sides.

There are few things that will cause me to turn my back permanently on anyone. They are a) narrowmindedness b) the intentional physical harming of another life form c) turning one's back on one's children (provided said children do not practice either a or b in their lives.)

I make no further apologies for who and what I am. The gift of empathy is both a blessing and a curse that I am slowly learning to embrace. I have no desire to hurt anyone, and I'm fine with that. If anyone ever feels hurt by me, please, come talk to me about it, because that has never been my intention.

Anyone else have comments?

If i had to add what i wanted to say to Mr. Way:

First of all, I hope you know that we are still behind you. We care about every band member just as much as you and we want them to know this as well. Some of us don't care what color underwear you wear, who you date, or what you do onstage. Some of us keep the faith. Some of us don't think you're a liar. You five men have helped shape many lives and even saved quite a few. You've become heros, but you and I know you are just human. And so i wanted to tell you, from the bottom of my heart, that I don't care if you make mistakes or show signs of weakness. We'll support you guys until the end and I hope you know that. The message isn't as important as the messenger, but in this case, the messenger is well taken care of. Please don't be afraid to trust your fans, we can catch you.

I would just like to echo the first post. I cannot stand how so many people put musicians up on pedastals to worship but never hesitate to swing the judgemental hammer down the second they reveal their humanity. I also detest how our culture has become obsessed with peeling away every last shred of privacy from celebrities and how we use that information to delude ourselves into thinking we "know" them. Gerard is not "ours" and we should not claim ownership of him, nor the rest of the band.

The PLOTB thread seems to have transformed into a form of thinly disguised digital stalking and I find that disturbing. I thought too, that it was going to be innocent stuff like what sort of pets do they have, what are their hobbies, where they shop, etc. But honestly the things I read in there make me ashamed to call myself a fan. I cannot imagine what Gerard or any of the other guys would think if they ever read it. I can't imagine how they would feel, if they would feel hurt or disappointed or disgusted. But if in the snowballs chance in hell they do read this, I hope they realize that there are still many fans out here devoted to the music and respectful of your lives.

I feel that whenever I post here, I always do it with the idea that should it ever be seen by any member of the band, I would feel ok with that. That anything I say here could not also be said to their faces. I think it keeps me level headed and honest.

I'm glad you posted this Deb. I am 100% in agreement with what's been said.

And thank god PLOTB is locked now. Like you said, it was a bash-the-crap-out-of-Gerard thread. It was making me upset.

That's a really good way to think.

Thank God you posted this. Everytime I go in that thread I feel like shit coming out of it. I'm going to love MCR no matter what and I'm sick of people picking apart everything they do.

I totally agree... and I just wanna add:
Gerard, or any other band member or crew that reads this, I just wanna say thanks again, and that what ever the fuck you guys do, we'll be right behind you. You've supported me and countless others in the 5-6 years you guys have been a band, by helping us through the bad times, helping us to stop taking other peoples shit, and helping us savour the good times.
In a strange way, you people have been like best friends, superheroes, and celebrities all rolled into one neat bundle. You guys (Meaning Gerard, Frank, Ray, Mikey, Bob, Cortez, DeWees, Pelisser* and all the crew) have been great to us- told us that anyone (fat, thin, rich, poor, black, white etc.) is acceptable, and I just wanna say sorry on behalf of my rather shit brain, for taking a small trip into your personal lives, and speculating rather heavily in the PLOTB thread on occasions. Whoever the fuck you hang around with, whoever you love, whoever keeps you sane- whatever they've done in the past, me and loads of other people don't give a shit, and we say: if they make you happy, we're also happy.
Thanks again dudes!

Ravi

P.S- I didnt say anything about Hickeys coz I didnt know what they were till now :s

*Yes- I did say Pelissier. I don't give a shit whether I get berated, or beaten- Pelissier was part of the band. No matter how apparently "Ropey" he was, he was still a piece of the group, and (theoretically) our lives.

If Gerard ever read this, I would want him to know-

Firstly, that we are still here for you no matter what- 100%. We're here for all of you five amazing men. You have shown us that we can make it through the worst of times and to always have hope and not let go.

Some of us care about each and everyone of you equally, and would not judge you on what you wear one day, or what color your hair is the next.

Some of us don't care who you date, the color of your underwear, or what you do on stage. We have a great time at your shows.

Some of us love the message you guys put out and take them to heart, and really listen to you.

When we read the crazy rumours about you guys some of us don't freak out and loose sleep over them. We laugh at them and move on.

Most importantly we love you all. I would like to thank you guys from the bottom of my heart. You are they ones ALWAYS there for me, no matter what. I wish I could give back to you guys, what you have given me. You've taught me how to live my life again. I'll be thanking you forever. Love with all my heart,

xxx

I'm really shy and I hardly ever post but I felt I had to say something. Seriously, I am just getting sick of hearing all this shit about Gerard and the rest of the bands personal lives. I hardly ever click on the PLOTB thread if I can help it and everytime I go on there I get annoyed and or upset. I am not saying people can't have their opinions but some things that are being said are just getting too far. It's not just on here as well, it's on loads of other MCR fan sites. And like other people said, they're human, not gods, not these perfect angels, but men who lead their own lives and make mistakes. And I respect that. I couldn't care less who Gerard's dating, what color underwear he wears, or if he has a hickey. I wish people would let them be who they are withought people nitpicking at their faults and personal lives. And hardly any of the rumors bother me, it's just they way some people have been reacting at them and making a huge deal out of nothing. And I'm not pointing any fingers and I didn't mean to hurt anyone.
Sorry, this has been bothering me and I felt like I had to get it off my chest.
