What does everyone think of glamour modelling?

Is it cheap, tacky?
A 'snazzier' word for porn?
Does it really open up doors and opportunities for a person?
Should magazine containing it not be sold in shops?

And any other questions you wish to raise.

Glamour modeling.....are you talking like pinups????.............I think you are.......I think that they are no where close to porn,..pinups are a classy art and you need to know how to use your body, its more of a burlesque thing while porn is more of a fetish thing...you know???

I see nothing wrong with it. I'd condsider when I'm older. You can make a good career out of it, and if you enjoy it, go for it.

I think it's just a softcore form of pornography, in photography form. I don't see anything wrong it, as long as the people are willing, and the right age, then it's fine.

I think our bodies are beautiful and can be a wonderful form of art. However, there is a line between nude sexy photos and nude sexual photos. I love nude pinups. However, I don't like seeing a woman spread eagle touching herself. There's a line, albeit a very fine one.

^^ I half agree with that.
I agree nude photo's can either be art or porn.
I don't have a problem with either though.

I don't have a problem with it.
The only thing I have a problem with is if girls go:
"when i'm older i want to be a model!!"
Where before it was like "I want to be a nurse" - You know do something good in the world.
So how does modelling help the world exactly apart from bringing entertainment and fantasies to guys?

But you should only do what you wanna do, not what's good for everyone else. That's how I feel, anyways.

i think that if someone wants to expose themselves for people to see, it's their perrogitive. if they want to be percieved as cheap and lustful then they should be able to without critisizm. for some people modeling and makes them feel worthy. some people need it to feel like they mean something to the world.

I relate glamour modeling with topless or risqué pin-ups.
I personally love pin up photography, because I'm really into the whole style; makeup, hair, clothing.
Glamour modeling being labeled as "soft pornography" seems like a stretch to me.
But I guess it really depends how each individual person looks at it.
One person may find it a turn on, while another person may find it an intriguing photography style.

Sometimes i do feel that Glmaour modelling pg3 ect is a bit pointless but as i've said before sex is one of the controlling factors of modern life so yeah we have to get over it.

Some things like this can be an artform, i consider burlesque and artform becuase when you see a berlesque performer its not just like someone with their tits out.

I don't have a problem with it, and I think sometimes it's beautiful and artistic. Sexuality is a part of the human condition, art relates to every part of the human condition. I'm sure some of it is trashier than some of the rest, but it's your right to pose/photograph as you please, providing everyone involved is a consenting adult.

Goodness no! lol. Glamour modelling is simply a form of art. But the models who DO glamour modelling know how to use their bodies to make it look good. I'm gonna quote billy pilgrim. Sexuality IS a part of human nature, and you just have to know how to make it look good, not trashy.

It's an axcellent profession if you ask me.

OK, some of it is cheap and tacky. But most of it isn't, you know?

Porn, I think, is more to cater for different fantasies and fetishes, and when I hear the word "porn" I think more of videos and bondage and stuff.
And glamour modelling is more page three, topless, pin-ups, all that.

I don't think it's wrong.
In fact, I'd do it.
(Ha, like anyone'd wanna see me naked)

Agreeing with blindfolds aside., I think glamour modeling and pin-ups and burlesque and whatnot is an actual artform as opposed to just porno. It's woven into the culture of the America (idk where everybody's from, but i'm from detroit) with Betty Page and WW2 pin-up art and stuff.

For somebody to cluster glamour modelling in with porno offends me because quite frankly, I find porno gross and artless and tasteless. (Sorry.) Whereas, agreeing again with blindfolds aside., pin-ups and stuff is the whole package with the art element to it. I don't think it's any more wrong than the "great masters" sculpting naked things.

So I really don't think it's wrong at all, in fact I think it's healthy. It's artistic, it's classy, and (once again, Betty Page and classic pin-up art) it doesn't necessarily promote the 'omg-gotta-be-a-stick-figure' mentality that's so rampant in culture today.

I wouldn't do it, but that's because I'm extremely self-conscious...

What do you all think about people doing it in the hope of becomig celebrities?

Such as, over here in the UK, anyone who comes out of a reality show seems to do a pin up in a magazine, just to get noticed.

Yeah, that's another thing... The same is happening over here as well, and I find it rather disgusting. Somehow the society is pushing people into thinking that the only way to succeed in life is to be famous, and young people are forcing their way into fame, no matter how high the price might be. It works, though. A "nobody" perhaps selling a kiss-and-tell or entering a reality show and later taking off the clothes is a guaranteed way to get yourself known. Now this is more of our own fault than theirs, after all, people buy the papers, look at the photos and want to know more. No-one admits to it, though. Again, it's everyone's own choice, but after forcing your way into the public eye you really don't have the right to complain about the lack of privacy.
