There was another topic that was locked so lets try to keep this one on topic. Oh and we all have different opinions so be respectful cause I want to know what you guys think and it would suck if this got lock cause of disrespectful comments ((that's kinda obvious but whatever))
Now on with eh?
So the troops
1) Do they get enough respect?
2) Do you respect them?
3) Do you think the people that want our troops out now are disrespecting them?((As the counter protesters at peace rallies have claimed))
4) The opposite of question 3. Do you think the people who want them to stay in war disrespecting them
5)Troops out now or keep them there?
6)Any other comments you feel go along with this

I'll start i guess..
1) From most people they do
2) I don't believe in war, but they have my highest respect
3) No not in the least. There are many how have been in the war or wars. And the message they give is "Support our troops, bring them home"
4) Yes because the Iraq war is for oil and the lives of our troops shouldn't be tossed away for oil
5) Troops Out NOW!!!!!!
6) Bush+Cheney=Evil ^.^

This should be a fine topic. It's a pretty serious thing these days.

How I feel: I feel bad for those troops that go into the millitary because they want to eventually go to college or support themselves, but people who actually go in support of the war are nothing but murders to me and don't deserve my respect.

I have friends going into the service next year and im always scared for their safety. One of them is having a baby with one of my other friends, so he's not just living for him anymore, and I can't stand the idea of losing him, but it was also his choice to join the service, because (quite literally) He's a violent psychopath, and while I worry for his safety, I don't respect his reason to join (to be able to shoot lots of guns) and I feel like anything that happens to him is something he set himself up for. I love him to pieces, but like any bad decision, he needs to live with whatever happens.

I really feel like some people overglority the troops, who really arn't fighting for America...afterall, we were the ones who attacked the Middle East. They arn't being DEFENSIVE, they are being 100% OFFENSIVE, and that bothers me.

I guess what I mean is, I worry for the people as individuals, but do I support or respect our troops? Sort of. Not really. I wish them all a safe return to their own children and loved ones.

1) Do they get enough respect? From some people.
2) Do you respect them? 100%. I may or may not support the war, but I support the trooops. I don't think that they're bad people. They're just trying to do the right thing.
3) Do you think the people that want our troops out now are disrespecting them?I don't think so. People that want our troops out want them safe.((As the counter protesters at peace rallies have claimed))
4) The opposite of question 3. Do you think the people who want them to stay in war disrespecting them? No. They're doing what they signed up to do.
5)Troops out now or keep them there? I'm split on this question.
6)Any other comments you feel go along with this

The Allied forces in iraq including the us representatives are getting mixed levels of respect in the public however i think most of the angst from the public is directed at the higher up authorities rather than the troops themselves. i however respect the troops imensly they are doing their duty as soldiers to go to war.

No i dont thin people who want the troops out are disrespecting them in a way they really just want them out because they feel the cause isnt important or that the troops could be doing somthing else.

no they are not disrespecting them either by wanting them to stay, they are soldiers its their duty as soldiers to do as they are told, besides im pretty sure at least a good percent of the troops their feel they have to stay

to be honest i really havnt seen any significant change in the situation down those parts its really od seeing there was just a 20 000 troop surge a while back. maybe they should just leave a few and pull out a bulk.

Just so you know its not just the us troops out there im from australia and we have troops down that end maybe you could have changed the question to troops in general as apposed to us troops, your not the only country out there with men on the line

I respect the troops. There's no reason not to, they're just doing what they think they should be doing
HOWEVER......
I am soo against the war in Iraq in the first place. I don't even want to get started.

Why would anyone disrespect troops? I don't, but some of them are too obessed with living their life serving someone like forever...but if thats their choice, I respect it, I'm probably sure that was kind of or totally off topic, But I respect them and I'm not happy at all at the war thats in Iraq

There never should have been an Iraqi war. We went in there in like 2001 to find nuclear weapons/weapons of mass destruction, and now her we are, 6 years later, no atomic bombs, no nothing because ZOMG!!! Shocked there WERE NONE to begin with. So why the heck haven't we pulled out? Because our president is too proud to admit he has made a mistake.

1) Do they get enough respect? --- Not really, they deserve more for all they're doing. One day to celebrate all that they, and the veterans have done... that most people forget about... they deserve more.

2) Do you respect them? --- I hate war, but yes, very much. No matter how effed up this war is, they are still there risking their lives. It's called ever heard the motto 'Hate the war, not the warrior' (or in this case troops)

3) Do you think the people that want our troops out now are disrespecting them?((As the counter protesters at peace rallies have claimed)) --- No, because people wanting them out are people that want the war to end and want them alive and healthy and with their families. People who want peace basically. Protesters have every single right to hold peace rallies, because they should be home. Now.

4) The opposite of question 3. Do you think the people who want them to stay in war disrespecting them. --- Hopefully not, that's would just be... sad. People wanting them there (though I don't know many who do) probably think that its the right thing to do? They think Iraq is safer then it was before (though its not) and well, I don't think they are. You only disrespect them if you think that they are no good and hate them, why? I can't imagine, but w/e.

5)Troops out now or keep them there? ---- OUT NOW!!!!

6)Any other comments you feel go along with this ---- I could go on, but I'd probably bore you all to tears. lol

just some fun:
So Bush is sending troops who have lost LIMBS back into the war. Now, starting today, if those troops refuse, they will lose their signing bonus, as well as all other millitary bonuses.

Talk about caring about our troops >_>
