Ok So i need to know what the deal is with photos.

On LOTMS, you see people getting photos with the band, backstage, out & about.

But both times they've been in NZ NO ONE has got photos with the band. Seriously. They have been told strictly no photos with the band. & so seriously, not even radio stations have got photos.

Plus the band do NOT go out & about anymore. They're just up in their hotel rooms & stuff.

The second point i understand, they're tired & need to conserve energy

But the first point - even with Meet & Greets people don't get photos.

Can I ask - Why?

Thanks.

I don't really know the answer to your question, but I definately know what you're talking about to a degree.
Here in Australia, the people that I know [and know of] that got photos with the band or a band member [on the recent tour] got them before a show, when they came out before they played. And also, some people get photos when they see them in the street.

I think they still do go "out and about" when they're in cities, but they try and keep it as low key as possible.

Lucky.
It's really stink because people here wanted photos, I don't see why at least one person couldn't get a photo. Maybe they think they get to treat us different because we're an extremely small nation.

Also, at BDO we had to PAY for the M&G tickets. just to get like something signed. & there were only 200 tickets. & my friend Nicole just pointed out that you could see that the people who missed out were the ... [i hate to say it, considering what people believe around here] true fans. People who had desperately wanted to meet them for 3 years. & the people who got in the line only wanted to because Gerard is "hot" & stuff.

Well you have to understand that since LOTMS they have become a much bigger band.
They can't say yes to one and fan and no to another, once they start signing/taking pic they will be mobbed.
Yea, I do understand where your coming but I think its just 'cos of the popularity of the band :]

They have become way too big to be able to take pictures with/meet all the fans. It's not possible.
We have to accept that.

I think it's a sad say when MCR become "too big" to take photos with fans

Not even like one person who won a M&G with them backstage, where others wont mob them & stuff.

I know people can't always be accountable for what they say, but just referring to interviews they've done when they've said they'll make as much effort as possible to meet every single fan in a line, or anyone who wants to meet them.
But yes, as you've pointed out they've become too big.

Very sad for the likes of me & my friend Nicole who've been fans for ages but such is life i suppose...

Yeah it was majorly fucked up
I think tickets were like 20 bucks or something? & there were limited numbers or something, it was ridiculous.
There was this one girl we saw who was bawling because she couldn't meet them. So we asked if she was ok but she just kept crying Sad

i agree it's sad that they'll never be able to take photos and stuff, they'll never be this small(ish) band again, but i am happy for them that threy're so successful.

There is a big difference in fans from LOTMS and now. Both in numbers and in safety issues.

Don't feel like NZ is the only one not getting to see the guys. As I posted on another thread, they didn't come out before/after my show either, and I went to a US show.

Don't take it personally and be happy that they even did a show. I would rather they do a show for thousands than a meet and greet for a hundred. The needs of the many and all of that.

And $20 for M&G, even without photos? I'd happily pay that. That's less than most B-list celebs charge at conventions, and you get all five for that price, yes? So what, $4 apiece? What a bargain. I think I have that in my couch cushions or in that catch-all in my car that usually is a haven for stray french fries or taco toppings. And of course they have to cap it, that's anywhere, any kind of signing you go to. There's always that lucky shlub with that "Last In Line" sign.

From someone who works with/around similar people -- a lot of that is set by agents/security and not the celebs themselves. Yes, they take the shit for it, but they are not the ones who set the rules.

They do what they can do. Be happy with what they are able to give, before they give up on it altogether and stop giving anything.

A few things.

1. I doubt this needed it's own thread.
2. If you haven't noticed, it's been almost 2 years since LOTMS was released, and even longer since that footage was recorded. Things have changed.
3. It's not only New Zealand that doesn't get autographs, it's everybody.
4. It isn't their decision on how much M&G tickets are.
5. They do the best they can. It's not like they don't even try.
6. Be happy for what you do get. MCR can't do everything, they aren't superheroes. They don't have the time or energy to do things like meeting fans anymore.

I agree. The decisions aren't made solely by the band, but by their record company/managers. It also depends on their schedule. The band are on a tight schedule and they can't always have to the time to stop and meet every fan that's waiting before or after the shows. At the meet and greets, about the whole not taking picture with the band thing, it was probably something that their manager decided not the band. The band has so little time and taking pictures could take a while.

& i'm sorry, but being bitchy in a reply to someone who simply asked a question, isn't being the "most helpful user", is it?

I HAVE noticed that it was released that long ago, thanks.

Just so you know
The band were out & about in town, and like a couple of people approached them & asked for a photo & the BAND said no photos. Fine. But just to correct you it isn't the agents decision, it's coming from the band.

Whatever. I just think it's pathetic because other bands who have been going longer still meet fans.

m&g's arent supposed to be charged for

nicole run quick switch sides says: (5:22:26 PM)
its usually just a first in first served thing

nicole run quick switch sides says: (5:23:15 PM)
then maybe they should have a fucking break. i mean they never play as a full band anymore. its like a rare occurance. maybe someone needs to tactually tell them to have a break

nicole run quick switch sides says: (5:24:11 PM)

nicole run quick switch sides says: (5:24:23 PM)
actually no, not FIVE. all five havent been here together

Jesserz:

the reason why they don't play as a full band is because there is always something happening with the band. It's not their fault. Mikey took a long break and it wasn't a decision he made on his own, the whole band had agreed that he should take a honeymoon and settle into married life. Frankie has gotten sick a couple times since being on this tour, and bob has gotten injuried. And for bob not being there, he's back in the US getting proper treatment for his wrist. You can't blame them for rare occurances like that.Yes, they do need a break they've been on tour since the band started. And just because they said no pictures doesn't mean they do it all the time. Put yourself in their shoes, you wouldn't like to be hassled of taking pictures when you're trying to enjoy your day out for just a day. They do everything they can for their fans. They should at least have time to enjoy themselves and do what everyone else does without having to be followed or mobbed. Because if they would've said yes, the word would've gone out that they were taking pictures with fans and more would've came. They should at least have some space. There are fans that get very hectic and the band just doesn't the energy to go through that. The fan base is not the same it was years ago. It's gotten bigger, its gotten crazier.

I'd be ready to pay for a meet&greet.. But not that much though.. On the other hand, come on, it's quite stupid to say you have to pay for meeting someone! 'Cause they're only human too. I'm just hoping I someday get a chance to see them live and meet someone, don't really care who would it be.
