LMFAO!
I thought the free condoms thing was just a joke, because I heard about it on some random morning show,
and they were going on about how while it could possibly be "causing annoyance", it would also be advocating safe sex xD

ahahaha, that's classic!

The idea of handing out condoms is probably also used as a symbolic protest against Catholic laws against using contraceptives. I think the Catholic church in Mexico or some other south American country are really strict about it, so that's why some of the less well off families end up with 10 kids crammed in a little house.

Sez- i'm not really sure what denomination I am- my church is multi denominational but other would say it's pentecostal. Really, I've been at Uniting, Congregational and Lutheran churches for a couple of years each & the obvious difference it makes is in the way the service is held. And about the Pope- I'm just against the hierarchy in the Roman Catholic church. Of course there should be leaders but when there's too much hierarchy, people fuss over the Pope and archibishops and cardinals etc & the church starts to turn into some sort of governing body.

yeah...why isn't it WYW?

Fair enough then, that makes sense I think.
My bf asked me if I had an air mattress today that he could borrow for his sleepover in the field, and I said yes, but he'd actually have to blow it up, it's not self-inflating. And he looked crestfallen, and then I said well maybe the Pope will have an air pump! And he just looked at me and goes "the Pope's not going to go round handing out things!!!" and then I asked if the Pope was going to sleep in the field as well xD

And yeah, it's meant as a protest against the contraceptive beliefs. Which I suppose is a good protest really.

Ughhh I swear, Contraceptive is so important, I mean we really don't need more kids in the world with the already 6 billion consumers in the world and everything so completely just.

ugghhhh D:

Yeah, I agree. Though then again, if my grandparents (my Grandfather was Catholic) had stopped at three kids (not that they could have, the third and fourth were twins), then I wouldn't be here, because Dad was child #6 (of seven). I can understand the not wanting to use contraception because of the unborn child aspect of it, but surely if it's God's will that you get pregnant the condom will break or something. I dunno. I'm just thankful that Bart isn't as hardcore Catholic as his parents are, who would apparently never dream of using contraception.

But not just as a means of birth control either, protection from STDs is important too. Because in a Christian relationship, two people should not be having sex until they're married anyway, in which case the child would be brought into a (hopefully) emotionally (though perhaps not financially) stable environment. Obviously this isn't the case, but I can see that aspect of it too.

In other news, Mum and I went to Big W this morning to buy Dad's birthday present - his bday's tomorrow. We bought him a Nintendo DS, and Mum says half the reason she got him one was because she wants one... so when he's at work she'll just use it. Hehehe. But OMG it was so busy at Big W. We stood in line for maybe half an hour?! Stupid stocktake sales. And yet stocktake sales <3333333

My mom was the second born of four kids and My dad second of Three.
My mom's parents were prodestant (i cant spell it) and my dads were jewish xD

I'm the first of two xDDDDD Tehe

I've decided the only reason I'd have kids is to pass on good genes, I carry all my families recessive jeans, Dark blue eyes, super pale skin.

But being realistic, not every Christian is going to wait until they're married to have sex. Therefore I don't see anything wrong with handing out free condoms. If they're going to have sex, they can at least have safe sex lol.

Well yeah exactly - I'm not a virgin for one, and I know that a fair number of my Christian friends aren't either. But really, if a Catholic is going to have sex before they're married, they're going to use a condom anyway, most likely. Because I'm pretty sure that the word of God > the word of the Pope, and he's the one talking about non-doms. So if you're going to sin because you're having sex, why not do it safely =P

exactly, so for all those reasons you guys have come up with, handing out condoms isn't exaclty a bad idea for a protest. It's really, doing some good for everyone else who isn't religious like that...& promoting prevention against STDs etc.

yeww back from adelaide!! it was so much fun hey i really enjoyed my time there i didnt wanna go home on saturday. we spent nearly 4 hours at rundle mall and the tournament was just as fun. nsw beat sa 6-0, then we played ACT which we won 4-1 and we lost against victoria 4-1.
the semi's included SA - ACT. NSW - ACT. VIC - SA.
ACT beat SA in the first semi final, though i dont remember the score.
We only just beat ACT 5-4 and we played shocking in that game.
Vic beat SA 3-1 but was also a stressful game.

When we played VIC the first time, the boys played shocking as they had a game early that morning against ACT and then played VIC 2 hours later. VIC won and acted as though they had won the grandfinal and that was when we knew that NSW still had a chance (NSW and VIC are big rivals in ice hockey).

ACT always have bad sportsmenship in icehockey and so we were very happy to hear they lost against SA in the bronze medal round.

The grandfinal was against NSW and VIC and the entire team (and its cheerleaders *cough* us *cough*) arrived very focused and ready to play a good game of hockey which we won 5-1.

after our win we went and had lunch at glenelg (i dont remember where but i have a bad sense of direction anyway) and at 4pm we left for the airport to catch a 6.15 flight home but the flight was delayed until 7.30. so we all dumped our bags with the team manager and the team (plus me lol) went off to do our own thing until 7.
a few minutes later we got another announcement saying the plane still hasnt arrived in adelaide and we wont be boarding until 8pm. by that time i was so annoyed with some of the new kids on the team who didnt know me i was glad i was getting on that plane.

all in all, the trip was actually really good fun.. the tournament was really good and intense and adelaide was a really pretty city, i didnt wanna leave.. if any of you read all that then kudos to you

yeah i loved adelaide. i hated canberra last year. there is nothing there. nothing. every time we have to go down there i opt out but adelaide was mad fun and the tournament was different cuz we were in adelaide. even though the teams were more aggressive and rude to us (as the vic team were coming into the park thingy after we won the grandfinal they saw me in my hawt blue n white short shorts and yelled out that i was a disgrace, which was funny coming from the loosing team who didnt play so great) its always the case with NSW. no one likes our team because we have a few really good players who are on my brothers club team, who again, no one likes. its very confusing and political. but it was a good tournament and hopefully next year we get to go to melbourne, even though vic are our rivals, melbourne is good for shopping Very Happy

Canberra has fireworks and porn hahaha. /random.
So does the Northern Territory, now that I think of it.
Actually they might not have fireworks, but they have porn xD
And I know this because of all the classification law stuff I did at uni, not because I've actually been there and inspected all the porn lmfao.

Death Cab for Cutie is currently on Channel [V]
-wants to rip ears off-
Not that I actually hate their music, haha.
Just reminds me of a few certain people I'd rather not think of. XD

Yeaaah, Rock on [V] ftw.
Trivium was on. It was weird and pleasant at the same time. XD
