| Rh!annon Bleeding On The Floor Age: 20 Gender: Female Posts: 2077 | I was just reading up in my Animal Physiology prac for tomorrow. We're going to be doing experiments with live hearts. As in, hearts by themselves, still alive, still beating whilst not actually connected to a body. How horror movie-ish. |

I hope you get into your first preference (: When do you find out? + lulz, I know what you mean Rhiannon, it seems like so long ago, even though for me it was only two years! I feel really old now haha. But lol @ me re-applying for the same course that was my first preference two years ago. Would've been easier if I had just gotten the marks I needed in the first place. Oh well. As a sidenote, I had no idea you could get into Law (like, on it's own) as an undergraduate. I thought it either had to be part of a double degree, or postgraduate. Woo, I learnt something today! |
| sez Headfirst For Halos Age: 19 Gender: Female Posts: 1274 | I know, I feel so old. And seeing all the ' Seniors 08' jumpers around?! Like, 07 was fine, I was still a baby then... but now I feel so old! |
| Miyavi Crashing The Cemetery Gates Age: 16 Gender: Female Posts: 11970 | Have you guys ever had songs that made you think of someone instantly? Or something. I dunno I'm tempted to make a list of things that remind me of certain people..:/ |
| sez Headfirst For Halos Age: 19 Gender: Female Posts: 1274 | Yeah definitely. Some songs make me think of people because certain things have happened while that song's been playing (for example my best friend and I getting the same score on Groove is in the Heart on Singstar on my 16th birthday... I've never ever seen anyone else get the same score as someone since then), but also some songs just make me think of people because they describe exactly how they are etc. Make the list =) |
| Rh!annon Bleeding On The Floor Age: 20 Gender: Female Posts: 2077 | Hahahaha. When I was little tacker I did a Jazz to Groove Is In The Heart, so whenever I hear that I think of that. But yeah, I have songs I think are relatable all the time. Lyrics for me in songs are much more important than they are for a lot of people. For me there needs to be a relatable element. There are 1000s of songs I connect to somebody in particular. Talking about how Linkin Park's Hit The Floor so perfectly epitomises someone I have this displeasure of knowing won me tickets to their gig. But my favourite moment came during the Matchbox 20 concert. Before All Your Reasons Rob told us the next song was a happy hate song. He informed us it wasn't a good thing to hate, but if you do have a little bit of hate then to picture that person, just smile and sing this next song. Me and my friend looked at each other, grinning, the very same person in mind. Some weeks prior I'd posted the lyrics, just the lyrics, in my LJ, and we spoke about how much that song was this person. It was just so perfect that Rob mentioned it. That, for me, is the beauty of music, rock music in particular. How relatable it is. It's saved me countless times. |

I was still pretty new to the Bullets album & she told me to listen to it...she told me how the song meant heaps to her. I kinda miss her, we talked so much, she was so creative & we both needed someone to talk to that time. Hellboy II is coming out on Thursday!!!!!!!!!! I've wanted to read the comics for ages, since I love Dave Stewart's colours (he did TUA as well), but I got to watch Hellboy 1 before I got to the comics- that was last night. I am officially converted. Then I got 2 Hellboy comics today- now I am addicted. Interesting note- if anyone's seen Hellboy 1, the funeral scene with the hearse & black umbrellas & the coffin bearers is eerily similar to the last part of the Helena clip. Which would make sense of course, I'd assume Gerard would've seen it then went to make Helena a year later. The shot from inside the hearse looking out the back doors then the coffin sliding into it, was replicated in Helena. And you know the Catholic crucifix necklace on the Revenge cd? That necklace was the symbolic object running through the whole movie. I'm impressed how much of a fan Gerard is. aahhahahaaa... Jules, you have teaching as first choice?! I'm just surprised that so many of my friends are becoming teachers. |
| kayles Really Not Okay Age: 17 Gender: Female Posts: 1040 | amy i went and saw hellboy 1 back in the day when it came out and i absolutely loved it but for the life of me i do not remember ANY of the movie. i gotta do my uni applications too i just dont know what i wanna do though life decisions are too hard to make at this age |
| CAcT '-.-' tux Bleeding On The Floor Age: 21 Gender: Female Posts: 2165 | ahah yeah I'm kinda behind times. I didn't know Hellboy 1 existed until a few months ago =.=" I'm doing uni applications too. I've applied to NIDA & they sent me back this questionnaire, one of the questions even asked what concerts/festivals I've been to LOL. Then on saturday i'm going to Charles Stuart Uni's open day...I don't want to end up studying in Wagga Wagga but it's an option if nothing else works. |
| Rh!annon Bleeding On The Floor Age: 20 Gender: Female Posts: 2077 | Funniest yet most ridiculous article I've read all day: "Dolly Parton lives! Dolly Parton has denied she died last weekend. Dolly is telling the world she still has a pulse after rumours of her death circulated on the Internet on Saturday. The rumours have been traced to an announcement at a football match but reports say that Fox News went with the unsubstantiated headline. The singer has not released a statement to announce her still throbbing pulse. Instead, she plans to use forthcoming appearances on shows like The Tonight Show and her current concert tour to prove that she is still alive." |
| asha molly. A Sad Song Age: 19 Gender: Female Posts: 32938 | LMAO! That made me laugh way more than it should have xD I am so fucking sick of group projects. I always get annoyed and think we're going to fail, so I do more work on them than I should. And it's impossible to get everybody in my group together to work on this, because there's so much tension. Argh. We're supposed to be going to Dendy on the weekend to 'do research', but it'll be so awkward "/ |
| Rh!annon Bleeding On The Floor Age: 20 Gender: Female Posts: 2077 | I know how you feel! It's so frustrating. Though, my current source of annoyance is a solo thing. I've been working on this paper over a week and it's worth a measly 5%. The lecturer already appears to have made up her mind that no one is getting full marks, so I'm probably looking at getting 4% maximum. Totally not worth it. Meanwhile, most people in my class haven't started and it's due tomorrow. They'll do a bang up job tonight and probably walk away with the same mark. Though, they can hand it in a week late and still not get marks deducted. Ugh. It's so unfair. |
| asha molly. A Sad Song Age: 19 Gender: Female Posts: 32938 | Wow, 5%? I hate it when they give out massive assignments that are worth so little in the overall marks. But I also hate it when they give out assignments worth 50% + They need to find a happy medium lulz. And that's so unfair that they don't get any deductions for being so late. At UWS, we get 10% deducted for every day that it's late. |
| Rh!annon Bleeding On The Floor Age: 20 Gender: Female Posts: 2077 | Agreed! It's so stupid. Like I have a Genetics MST on Tuesday worth 10%, and I haven't been able to study cause of this Physiology paper. And each prac report from that subject is worth 1%. 1% isn't even worth my time. Most subjects do deduct you, but most aren't as strict as that. We normally have 5% off for the 1st day, then 2% for every day after. This time, the lecturer decided she wouldn't be bothered doing that so is deducting 1% per week. 10% is pretty fair, I think. Cause I hate being disadvantaged when I work so hard to make sure everything is in on time. |
| sez Headfirst For Halos Age: 19 Gender: Female Posts: 1274 | I'm pretty sure that we get 2-5% per day, depending on the subject. But I so often take the late penalty because I'm lazy as. But I think that if it was 10% I would actually pull my socks up and do my work =P |
| asha molly. A Sad Song Age: 19 Gender: Female Posts: 32938 | I've always been too scared to hand anything in late, because I'm never confident that I'll get good enough marks to not fail ): I just saw on the news that Mark Priestly (Dan on All Saints) took his own life I'm in shock. Just, why? He was so talented, and now it's just gone. Rest in peace. Edit; On a much lighter note, this article got the lulz. Seriously, if she hasn't even got a job, why the fuck is she spending so much to fly somewhere and get autographs? What an idiot. I'm ~so glad~ the taxpayers of Australia are paying for her to do this. |
