I am probably opinionated and biased against the Pope, so that, combined with the whole debate about the $5500 fine given for people wearing offensive shirts and unregistered protesters, is really disturbing my peace here! I thought World Youth Day was supposed to be some widespread, open arm thing celebrating young people but at the moment to me, it seems like an excuse to give the Pope some popularity points. There's so much fuss about 'the Pope visit' than what should be promoted about WYD. And I'm probably badly biased because my friend and I were treated rudely at St Mary's Cathedral- that big one open to the public in the city- a week ago. We were walking through the Cathedral Crypt quietly until this staff saw us and waved his arm pointing to the door- I can't describe how rude it looked. We weren't even asked to leave. We were basically thrown out of church. World Youth day my arse. I sent them a complaint & I haven't heard anything back.

They're in Europe for the next few months, then might take some time off, and then an American tour. Or possibly straight up do an American tour. Who knows?! Haha I'm pretty good at guessing their tour schedule though. That made me giggle. I suppose it does make sense to a degree.. if I were in the middle of some religious experience, or even like... a Church service, I wouldn't want someone to come and hand me a condom or 'causing annoyance' to me. Yeah, a week is way too long. It just seems stupid. I was talking to my bf last night, and he asked his friend what the schedule is... and the friend said well the first day there's a concert, then there's another concert the next day... and then the next day there'sa concert... and there's one the next day too. Surely they could condense it into ONE concert, and sleep in a field for a night. BOOM. Though I suppose if it was only for a night or two then there would be fewer international visitors, which is sort of the whole point of WYD. Well it's not, but it is. ALSO, lol at the people who are stranded in Sydney because they thought that Adelaide was only a couple of hours' drive away. Again... I am mean.
