Toivoa.:I don't get what is wrong with a romantic song.
Something incredible happened in his life. He doesn't feel as angry as he did when he wrote Bullets and Revenge. You can't stop the man from growing up and learning you know.
And who says this can't be a punk rock album because there is a soft song on it.
I LOVE romance.
Great new song guys!
I agree
The Conductor:OMG. the newest song, wow. It's so beautiful. It brought me to tears it's so amazing.

"say...really know enough to play
to cast ___ off
___
and all the moving
care, movement
and all the memory
____
if i meant
the world to you
(chorus)
would you stay right here?
then i'll tell you
that someone out there loves you
stay right here.
then i'll tell you
that someone out there loves you
after all
(end chorus)
___it's easier alone (not so sure about this line)
and cast this ___ off
___
and if you're walking out the door
i'll stop you
___
and if you turn to me
i'll say
could you stay right here
then i'll tell you
that someone out there loves you
stay right here
then i'll tell you
someone out there loves you
is it not the one, i'm not the one,
well then,
is there another one who, another one
who cares?
is it not the one, i'm not the one,
now then,
is there another one who, another one
who cares?
and would you dance with me?
cuz i can't make you now!
(solo)
and if you stay right here
then i'll tell you
that someone out there loves you
is it not the one, i'm not the one
now then,
is there another one now, another one,
who cares?
and if i'm not the one, i'm not the one
now then,
is there another one now, another one
who cares!?" |

Age: 36 Gender: Female Posts: 28500 | February 3rd, 2008 at 04:04pm I love both of the new songs. And about them talking about doing a 'punk' record - it's still not impossible, two songs doesn't make a whole record. And what's wrong with love songs? But I honestly can't imagine them making a record only with songs in this style. |

Age: 33 Gender: Female Posts: 918 | February 3rd, 2008 at 10:36pm these new songs sounds like they were written by a 14 year old girl. they suck. i'm disappointed.
"stay" is decent. but eh. |

Age: 34 Gender: Female Posts: 2130 | February 3rd, 2008 at 10:55pm Well if they can turn "Shut Up and Play" into a crappy love song called "Disenchanted" then they might have the hope of turning these crappy love songs into something real when they record. |

I don't see anything that they made as 'crappy'
I, myself, haven't heard these songs and do not intend to until a good studio recorded version is out.
But even so, the band changes. I mean the whole band has found Love, so dont you expect some love songs?
It isn't 'crappy', it's 'different' I think.

Age: 32 Gender: Female Posts: 488 | February 4th, 2008 at 06:31am I like sister to sleep, stay and the newest song
I think it's okay to put lovesongs on their record, and it would be great if they'd made a record like bullets and revenge. We all know that they've all improved, and Gee's feelings have changed.
I'm sure that they can make those new songs better, as Gee wrote in the TBP LE booklet, they changed welcome a lot and it sounded better afterwards.
so it might sound better when they'd put it on their next record.
I don't think that their newest song is crappy, it's just something new |

I wouldn't really consider "Disenchanted" to be a love song. (I also don't think it's crappy, but everyone is entitled to their opinions)
"Disenchanted", to me, is exactly that. It's a not-quite-middle-aged person looking back on their life and what they've done, then looking forward to what's coming next, and realizing that what they thought was important really wasn't, and what's coming next isn't as exciting as it could have been.
I only recently heard "Shut Up And Play" and while I like it, I prefer "Disenchanted" with all the finishing touches. And I posted elsewhere, what's out there now are good *starts* for songs. I'm sure if and when they make it to a record, we'll be able to recognize elements from what we have now, but be pleasantly surprised with how they change them into full-fledged songs. |

Age: - Gender: Female Posts: 278 | February 6th, 2008 at 07:50am I don't think the song is crappy, and I don't have a problem with Gerard being in love and all that...
but just don't like the song.
its just not my style... i'm more of a Bullets girl i guess...
i like songs with a bit of darkness in them...
anyway, it doesn't matter whether we like it or not, its a song for now, and if the guys want to play it, good luck to them!
besides, who says its even going to make the next record? it might never be released! |

I'm not too fond of Stay. It sounds a little generic to me. But I like the simple piano in the new one. It's nice. |

Age: 32 Gender: Female Posts: 2071 | February 6th, 2008 at 09:23am I'm really proud of the guys. It takes some balls to change like that, and I like the new direction. And furthermore, "Disenchanted" is a beautiful song that never fails to cheer me up. |
