And we drove to my friend's apartment in Tampa and stayed there last night, I woke up late this morning and drove the two and a half hours back to Ft. Myers. So that's why I'm late.
OKAY, here goes:
We got to Tampa around 1:30 p.m. and hurried into my friend Amanda's car. Then we started the hour drive to Orlando. We wanted to get there extra early, because remember that bulletin they posted about going to the Virgin Record store in Downtown Disney? Where if you buy a copy of Pretty. Odd., you got a wrist band so you could meet them? Well, we were on our way for that.
We got there and saw the buses in the parking lot right across the street for the virtual Disney adventure thing. And we spazzed like we usually do.
We didn't know if we could get wrist bands because of how late we were, so of course, we tried. WE GOT THEM!
We waited around for three hours because the signing started at 6 p.m. And then it came.
I brought these magazine things from my school that had them on the cover and an interview of Jon. And when we got up to them, I almost couldn't speak. It was like... they were right in front of me. I had been waiting for this for so long.
Jon was first, I walked up and said hi and he asked how I was. I asked back and he told me he was doing amazingly well. He asked what he was signing because I just had it folded and opened to the interview. I told him about the school paper and he asked where we all went to school. I told him that we go to Florida Gulf Coast University. But we had to move so fast. Then I went to Spencer and he was amazed that our school had an article about them. Ryan was next and he had only caught the last little bit of both of my "conversations" with Jon and Spencer. So he asked my friend Amanda B. [who was before me] what school we went to. The other Amanda [one is Amanda C.] said "FGCU!" He asked what it stood for and Amanda B. couldn't answer, she was just like, staring at him. So I spoke up. I said, "Florida Gulf Coast University." He nodded and started to look through the magazine. He asked where it was and I told him in Ft. Myers, but no one has ever heard of the school or the town [unless you're familiar with Thomas Edison & Henry Ford's winter homes]. He told me to have a good night and I told him that I promised I would. And then onto Brendon. Jesus. He's good looking in pictures right? Of course, but oh my god. He's the only one I was thoroughly nervous about. He thought it was cool that we brought the magazines and came so far to see them. And I asked him if it would be really weird if I were to tell him hi from a girl named Melyssa who is possibly their biggest fan. He told me absolutely not and SMILED THE BIGGEST SMILE I'VE EVER SEEN. I PROMISE.
I told him to have a good show and that I knew I was going to enjoy it and he winked at me a smiled and said, "Sure thing." And then he waved goodbye. Since it was a quick signing, there were no posed pictures and you could only get one thing signed.
BUT JESUS CHRIST. I GOT TO MEET THEM. THEY WERE A FOOT AWAY FROM ME!
I was shaking really badly when I left. I was so happy that I didn't show how nervous I was around them.
Then we rushed over to the House of Blues to get into the place. We weren't close, but we were close enough for me to see [because doors opened at 6 and we were waiting to meet them at 6]. Everything was perfect. I couldn't have imagined a better night.
And Melyssa, remember how I told you I'd probably cry while they were playing? I did, and big time. When they played "Northern Downpour", it was a subtle cry. But then Brendon came out and played "Time to Dance" acoustically, and I lost it. Everyone around us was staring. But I didn't care. I GOT TO SEE PANIC AT THE DISCO. Everything I wanted to happen, happened. It was perfect.
Amanda B.'s camera died, so we didn't get any pictures.
I did record a voice clip thing on my phone of the second verse of "Northern Downpour". And as lame as it sounds, it was a really good recording and it sounds like Brendon called and started singing to me. Haha. [/teenie]
I hope it is as good for the rest of you. I know it will be.
And sorry for the wait you guys. :]

Posts: 4054 | April 27th, 2008 at 01:28am omgz, i just got back from their show at Atlanta, and that was hands down, the BEST show i've ever been to.
as soon as they came on stage, i was screaming and yelling, then during Nine in the Afternoon, i almost started crying. i was just like, "i'm seeing my heros. omg!"
then the finished what was suppost to be their last song, and just put their instruments down, and walked off stage. all the lights turned off and stage people started cleaning up their stuff. And seriously, the WHOLE crowd started yelling, "Ong more song! One more song!!" then Zach was on stage waving his cell phone trying to get all of us to do they same, then Brendon runs out with his guitar and started talking to us and how we need to sing with him since he was the only one up there. after we all song Time To Dance, the rest of the band comes out and Spencer takes one of the microphones and starts about how they had been doing 14 songs and this is the first time he decided to talk and how the rest of the band couldn't do anything about. XD
then they did Mad as Rabbits and afterwards Jon yells out "my bass didn't work the whole song, but it was still awesome!"
Ryan and Brendon started tell us, the crowd, for us to take off our shoes but we shouldn't cause it was muddy (it was outdoors), so then brendon takes off his shoes for us, and so did Jon.
the crowd was amazing, but all the kids my age were douchebags, and THS, PP, and MCS were all awesome, too.
omg, it was so amazing. i'm still in awe that i saw them. |
