Thug Life. Bleeding on the Floor Age: 33 Gender: Male Posts: 1315	April 27th, 2008 at 11:26am Hey all. well its that time soon again when big brother hits the screens again ready to infest that 7pm time slot again and possibly every other slot the last reality tv show was placed in. this year it came to my attention that there was going to be a racist housemate. i had to investigate myself and googled it. sure enough wikipedia popped this gem out "Terri is a 52 year old and was first revealed to be entering during So You Think You Can Dance one week before launch night. She idolises Pauline Hanson and detests immigrants, claiming that they "bring a lot of problems with them and now we are paying the price". She claims that religion is the root of all evil and says that she is outspoken, opinionated and loud." so shes racist. see i do have problems with this because the show is placed on seven o'clock time slots and is pretty much on all the time. do you really think its appropriate for channel ten to put a person on who surely will regurgitate her non immigrant sludge ? any thoughts on the rest of the show would be great. and yes i am aware people out there do like it.

She's not saying she doesn't want a particular race of immigrants here, just immigrants in general. If it's anything like the generic non-immigrant argument, than it has more to do with taking away of jobs etc etc. And I can't say such opinions are necessarily unfounded. Also, Channel 10 will not show any footage which is racist in any way. During the live streaming they've had to publicly apologise because someone made a racist joke (about Aborigines, I think?), so they'll be careful about what's aired. There's a definite line there which they'll be conscious of crossing. They'll push it, sure, but wont cross it, or be forced to apologise. This year is going to be the worst year ever. And I'll still get addicted to it. xD It's like a horrific car accident. You don't wanna watch, but it's so hard to turn away

If they're doing this for the 'shock factor', then I think the general public are going to be more 'disgusted' than 'shocked.' Then again, I'm completely biased, because I loathe Big Brother. But it's like putting that Corey guy into the house. They're doing all the wrong things, and it hasn't even started.

Me and my best friend have said for about the last 5 years "I'm so over Big Brother, I don't care this year." And every year without fail we end up SMSing each other after every show going "OMG, did you see tonight?" P.S. That Corey chunt better get voted out first week. I can't believe they're doing something so ridiculous. What's more, apart from being a total wanker, the kid has zero personality. He's made out to be this huge party animal, but if you listen to him when he talks he's boring.

And as Jules Rhiannon said, even if it was, they wouldn't be able to show it on tv, especially not in a 7pm timeslot. Lmfao, I've just finished a massive assignment on racism v free speech in Australia, and there's no way channel 10 would risk all the possible lawsuits by broadcasting racist material. And judging from all the reports I've seen about BB this year, Corey is only going to be an intruder, thankfully. That means less time for him on tv ;D

I usually wouldn't bother, but i'm one of those people who's a sucker for controversy I love confrontation. Not that I condone racism, or any other prejudice. I just love watching people working themselves up. They've had racist, sexist and homophobic people in the house before. So I wouldn't be surprised if some of the housemates pertain to those ideas.

Eventually we went to Channel 31 (local TV), which ended up being some really REALLY dull movie show. ANYWAY), and in one of the ad breaks there was an ad for BB... and Bart just went 'omg, I think she went to my school in Melbourne.' So I don't remember her name, but she likes seeing people fall down, and she's a dwarf (we think), but yes. About 5 years above him, I think. How interesting. And does anyone remember Tilly from two years ago? She got voted out in the first week xD Anyway, she went to my highschool a couple of years above me. Anyway, I don't like BB.
