Jarvis.:This is horrible, horrible quality, but i think you'll get the idea.
clicky
any thoughts? i really want to know what you guys think.
Its not that horrbile, of a painting.
The quality of the picture is bad, yes.
But I think the peice is beautiful, and expresssive. Even if it is just MCR.

And Jarvis only meant the photo taken of it was horrible quality, not the painting itself. |

I love how it has such a life to it, with his facial expression he looks like a real character. I would have loved to see his sweat shirt more detailed though. But the detail in the face is fantastic =] |

Ahhh no I didn't get any comments before so thats why I reposted it (as I really like recieving feedback and stuff like I suppose everyone does..)
I was basically copying from a black and white picture so the sweat shirt was just plain black... but I do see your point.
I'll have to look at the colour version sometime and add in some shading as I reckon it'll make the clothing seem even more 3D so thanks for suggesting that (:
But I'm glad you like it! I really appreciate you leaving a comment! x |

I think this is a repeat picture, but I don't think I got any comments when I posted it the last time. It was quite a long time ago, so I don't really remember...

Age: 30 Gender: Female Posts: 30661 | December 4th, 2009 at 11:00pm ^ as i said, i think that painting's really lovely. the texture's great and with colour you're made a picture of a simple object look really interesting. and because the colours aren't too bright, it draws attention while being kind to the eyes.
small criticisms would be that the curved line at the bottom of the cup seems a little off, it seems that the lowest point of the curve is a little to the left, when it should be nearer to the middle. it also looks just a tad straight, but it seems like that might just might be the shape of the cup you've used, so don't take that too seriously.
also, i think the brown area on the right of the cup is a little distracting. (not so much the lower, darker shade but the lighter) i just think that if the dark brown alone was there it would simply look like a shadow. whereas the light brown on top makes it look like one big brown mass that looks out of place.
hope that was of some help, painting's not always my strong point.

lovely work! doesn't even look like acrylic.
a little shading in the upper left would help make it a bit more effective, imo, but the subject itself is looking great (: |

Age: 31 Gender: Female Posts: 2038 | my friends and I had a painting party and we did a couple of homages to Jackson Pollock, I'll post them once I get a working camera. I think he would have been proud. or he would have thrown a beer bottle at us and scrutinized our sporadic brush strokes. whatever. I like them. |
