leaves of my remorse:first of all, why hang yourself? its a horrible way to die, in my opinion. you either have a quick death from your neck snapping, or a slow one from suffocating. but I guess it more easy to find something to hang yourself with. (wow, I probably sound mean, sorry if i do.)
oh of course, the bullies aren't to blame, blame him for being emo, and listening to emo music, eh? I'm being sarcastic, of course. I think daily mail is more to blame, influencing people AGAINST emo which causes bullies. hm..
I probably make no sense at all, haha.
poor boy. RIP. ):
I agree.
I was thinking the exact same thing, that if that newspaper write something against emo, then people are gonna think it's a negative thing, and people who choose to be a part of that subculture are gonna be targeted and laughed at, for doing something which the media says is stupid and the media portray in a negative light. And some people are just so unhappy with their own lives, that they see 'emo' people as an easy target and think that they can bully them, because the newspaper said that emo is bad, so it must be. It's just like those school shootings. The media blows it up, tells of every detail that happens, and then all of a sudden there are copy cat shootings. In this case, the media blow up the whole 'emo' thing, make it seem bad, then other people bully others for being a part of it, and there are more deaths, because the media have brought it out.
But obviously the media aren't completely to blame for this death. Those bullies sound like arseholes. I don't have a bebo account, but aren't there ways to make your profile private and block people from seeing your stuff, like Myspace? |

Anyone else think it's funny that Bullet For My Valentine is 'emo' now?
I found it freaking hilarious, that was after I was done being pissed off at them for it of course.
*Holds back on rant of how BFMV are definitely in no way possibly emo and how the Daily Mail suck more than donkeys ass.*
Poor boy though, I hate the whole prospect of bullying and I hope the people responsible for it get what they deserve, and I'm not quite sure what that is yet. |

I mean, they blamed his death on the bullying, instead of just a fashion movement or taste in music. |

I wonder what they would've said if the protest hadn't happened? |

Age: 32 Gender: Male Posts: 121 | June 15th, 2008 at 05:22pm I saw this the other day in some paper (The Mirror, I think. I can't remember).
They blamed the bullies, and not the scene he was into.
I've never really been bullied, but I've seen a lot of it. It's disgusting.
What the Daily Mail has done is add to the negative view of emo, which will probably cause more of this sadly.
By the looks of things, they're reigning back on the hate now though, which means the protest seems to have accomplished something at least.
They still need to hire someone to do their research though; finding random band names and calling them emo is not research. |

I was talking to my dad about all ths Daily Mail stuff, and he shared his opinion.
I found it interesting, because he said that the Daily Mail has a target audience, which sadly, don't include 'emos'
He said that he felt the paper was there for more upper-class type people, therefore say what they want to hear.
Remember, this is an opinion.
What do you guys think?

Rest In Peace, x.
And Lovesick, your dad is right. The DM does have a target audience and will do anything to obtain that.
They really couldn't care less about people like us who randomly come across the paper now and again, their more concerened about there own readers and their beliefs.
The Daily Mail wont change it's ways because of what we did with the protest. They'll always be stubborn, and it's most likely they will continue to brainwash their readers with this emo bullshit. |
