Advice

A pale smile and those gleaming eyes
Your lips mouthed the words I hated to hear (it will be okay)
So I blocked it out and filled the space with lies
My heart is now intact, but thank you for offering
To tear it apart even more than it was
At least I knew your motives from the beginning
The sound of your stomping steps
Match the sound of your unintellectual words
Harsh and scuffled, not at all direct
To most you are a hero, and you keep it that way
Because they make you feel whole and wanted
But I know you through like a predator its prey
And I know you never wanted it like this
To be the one who has to answer for all their mistakes
To be the poster child and hear the hiss
Of their accusations, well I know they're wrong
All it ever was was just some comfort
All it ever was was just some advice in a song.

Regret

we press out lips to the window, and the fog fades away
we leave our prints for the morning, when this won't be okay
We search the car for pure intentions, what we find makes us grey
We stamp the night with our destruction of two souls in decay
And still the black carries on
We feel with the lights turned off
Regret is not an option, I wanted this from the start
I can't help but to wonder, if you wanted this from my heart
The sea is getting restless, and soon it will be the perfect storm
To lose yourself in, to forget about what you came for
We drive all night into the orange of the road in front of us
We stop and listen to the ocean, but it just ignores us
I carried on through the trees in the forest, through the thick and through the dense
You just stayed and said goodbye to me, now I'm left to find the exit
And still the black carries on
We feel with the lights turned off
Regret is not an option, I wanted this from the start
I can't help but to wonder, if you wanted this from my heart
The sea is getting restless, and soon it will be the perfect storm
To lose yourself in, to forget about what you came for
Tonight, will it still be cold
Even in your sight the air I breathe is laced with white
Tonight, will I still be told
That this means something so much more than what I perceived it to be in the storm
Of good intentions
Of past conditions
Of what I was looking for
Regret is not an option, I wanted this from the start
I can't help but to wonder if you wanted this from my heart
The sea is getting restless and it will soon be the perfect storm
To loose yourself in, to forget about what you came for
Regret is not an option, I wanted this from the start
I can't help but to wonder if you wanted this from my heart
The sea is getting restless and it will soon be the perfect storm
To loose yourself in, to forget about what you came for

Smile

‘Cause all we’re missing is that one small smile
That chance of recognition for something gone right
That awkward glance at the end of the night
That tainted kiss under the yellow porch light
