chyeah they are! and im not saying that cause there my fave band.its because they have influenced many many many bands, they have made great music,and great videos,and besides being in a band they always have time for there family so there never really hooked on just the band.those are my reasons of how i think Green Day is a great band

Standing on the corner of
Stuart and the Avenue
Ripping up my transfer
And a photograph of you
You're a blur of my dead past and rotting existance
As I stand laughing on the corner of insignificance

-from "Stuart and the Ave" by Green Day

Sorry, that was random. But what lyrics by Green Day do y'all like?

As to my avy, teenage wasteland. That's Billie Joe as he appears in my dreams.
No, really.

To this day, I still love the lyrics of Basket Case more than any other Green Day song. That song just cracks me up and bring back good memories.
With my friends someone'll start quietly, "Do you have the time..." and we'd sing the entire song, together, in horrible voices. *sigh* Yeah...

Anyways, although Green Day does not frequent my ipod playlist as much as some other bands do, the respect I have for this band is equal to my top four bands...and even then, it's a different brand of respect. The shit they get from punk elitists, tche...sucks. They are good no matter what. And, I can't wait for their new album.

"Billie Joe will be contributing in a band which Tim Armstrong created:

Tim Armstrong and Billie Joe On January 19th, 2007, Tim Armstrong announced that he and some of his good friends will be working on a small recording project and tour, made to benefit many of the poor sections of Indonesia. No songs or tour dates have been announced as of yet.

He decided to begin working on benefit recordings and concerts due to his recent travels to Jakarta and other sects in the country. After discovering that Indonesia is the fourth largest country in population, and that half of the country's citizens live on less than $2 a day. He states that he was captivated by the people and the culture of the country, and that he is attempting to do whatever he can to help raise awareness and help benefit the country's economic resources and funds.

So far, Tim Armstrong has recruited all current Rancid members (Lars Frederiksen, Matt Freeman, Brandon Steineckert) as well as Billie Joe Armstrong (Green Day, Pinhead Gunpowder), Travis Barker (blink-182, +44) and Vic Ruggiero (The Slackers). Rumour speculates that other artists such as Rob Aston (Transplants), Tre Cool (Green Day), Craig Fairbaugh (+44) and Davey Havok (AFI) will also contribute.

* Tim Armstrong - Vocals, Guitar, Harmonica
* Billie Joe Armstrong - Guitar, Vocals
* Lars Frederiksen - Guitar, Vocals
* Matt Freeman - Bass, Backing Vocals
* Vic Ruggiero - Keyboards, Backing Vocals
* Travis Barker - Drums
* Brandon Steineckert - Percussion"
