When they played at the Gilman, it was a huge 'rule' [like in most underground places] that you can't get signed to a major label. And well, they did. They've been banned from the Gilman since. So in that sence, they are sellouts from their punk roots.

"Green Day will contribute a cover of John Lennon's "Working Class Hero" to the forthcoming CD Instant Karma: The Campaign To Save Darfur, proceeds from which help support Amnesty International's campaign to focus attention on the urgent catastrophe in Darfur, Sudan. "Working Class Hero," which appears on Lennon's 1970 album John Lennon/Plastic Ono Band, is considered one of the former Beatle's most overtly political songs, with its themes of class and social alienation. Green Day - singer-guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt, and drummer Tré Cool - will also shoot an accompanying video for the track. The single will be released to radio and iTunes on April 30. "

My life would be totally different without Green Day. - I started playing guitar because of Billie Joe. - I met my best friend on a GD message board. - I'm currently living with a friend I met on the same board. - On the same board, I discovered this new, small, band called "My Chemical Romance"...who then inspired me even further. I own all their albums, and honestly can't wait to hear the new material.

I tried looking yesterday in the shop like, but my mate just took it off me and started reading it himself and i had to go grab my other mate because he was buying me my lunch lol. Then today, my mate brought kerrang..but then this toher guy came over and took it off me whilst I was reading it so I didnt see it again. But im going to treat myself to it tomorrow on my way to my german speaking exam. =).
