What I do is: 1. fold piece of cloth in half 2. draw out line of shape 3. cut shape out 4. sew the two pieces together, but not completely, if that makes sense? 5. turn it inside out, stuff it, and then sew it shut. 6. add other stuff on, either sewing it on or using fabric glue. you can use fabric paint too, or to make clothing, do steps 1-4.

And I do my faces and stuff before I start sewing. But I think it actually kind of depends on what you're making, too. :3
