Hallo all of you who are confused as to our super strict poetry forum! We can't wait to see your work. We also can't wait to see the work of the rest of our (currently) 52,483 users, but we have a site to keep up and running, so as you can see we may have an issue with space.

We've also received questions and complaints about the necessity of a new thread for every poem and have dealt with users' annoyance when 15 poems are posted by one person in one day (whatever the reasoning is; I know sometimes it's got a good reason, still a bit annoying I guess).

SO! To the point. Rules for the poetry forum here on INO:

All of your poems go in your own special thread. That is to say, each user will have their own Poem Thread and will be able to simply "update" it when they have new work. This will turn our very nicely, if you do it right - a bit like your own personal "anthology." So be creative; make people want to read your stuff.

This may seem confusing. A lot of us aren't familiar with how "text formatting" works on message boards, so feel free to study our BBCode Tutorial to learn about making links or whatever else might help you. If it's a little too advanced, feel free to ask about specifics here. We have a super friendly user base.

If you find that your threads are being locked/deleted, it's probably because you only get one thread in this particular area.

If your thread reaches 200 pages, it will go the Archive. You will be unable to update it. If you need your stuff from there, go on over and get it for your new thread. That being said...

It is highly reccommended that you save all of your work to your own machine.

Or a notebook, or something. We can't be held responsible if you lose a thread or if some posts are erased; the Internet's not perfect and neither are we. We're just doing our jobs and we mean you no harm. :]

So get it together! We want to see what you can do. :]

Love, INO Staff

PS - try not to spam the crap out of this thread, mmkay?

OK, i have gone through and locked/deleted the threads which are against the new rules, and Dujo has moved them all to the archive.

If people post individual poems in future please report them using the report button in the right hand corner of the posts.

Thanks.

I hope this question I have isn't pointless, but you said all poems when they normally reach 200 pages, they get moved to the archive automatically...
But... you clean up the archive constantly, means we have to save them on your machine, I got that....

But can't we just re-link our old poems to the archive? Means that you would like.. not delete the poem threads on the archive? I know it'll take me a year to reach 200 pages, but I dunno, it's been on my mind for long..

I'm not even sure the links would work in the archive...

I shouldnt worry about it Cherokee.
The links would work but the archive is deleted once a month so you are best to save the work and repost anything you want to.

Having said that...

In a years time we'll have a new INO so it wont matter anyways.

Can you make so youre able to edit your old posts?

I mean, it would be a lot easier, since I can't actually update my table of contents.

Sorry if I sounded condescending :/

This may seem a bit silly, but can we also post prose texts?
